Kingmohod, I respect your friend's opinion, but I believe he is a complete and utter idiot.

I don't get liking Dodge trucks, nor do I understand his opinion on them "lasting longer". The transmissions in them are so utterly poor that a great driver can destroy them in a year. I hardly see Dodge trucks from the 60's or 70's driving around, while Ford and Chevy trucks from those eras and earlier are all over the place.

Also, America is where cars really got there start. If Mr. Ford hadn't made the V8, I have to wonder where the car would be at today. I imagine we would have them, but nowhere near the same... looking at the cars I've always known, America has some of the best. I know how it is in countries like yours. Ferraris, Mazis, Abarths, and the like abound. Maybe its just me, but with some pure motor and dropping the luxury BS, I could out run one pretty easily.

Well, to be fair, they've had 40-50+ years to improve on those.

Truck brands can almost be a religious war though, for whatever reason. I'm sure if you dig you can find problems with nearly any of them, or things to like.

American cards in general are solid. There was a point in time when they really let quality slide, but things have long since recovered from that. I do think they can have a problem with designing desirable models to suit all tastes and price ranges (or manage to resist bare plastics in the interior  ), but that's a different thing from being reliable transportation or competitive on the track.

You can't compare Chevy's from the 60's to current Dodge models. Most likely people who built those Chevy's are all dead. My point is its very different now. You have to compare the current models.

My friend has a 2005 Dodge truck, and he says for things I have put it through , it really served me well. Its still working in fine condition, solid.

As for our region not buying American cars, you couldn't be any more wrong. Back in the 70's,80's and even up to mid 90's American cars were THE cars to buy. Chevys, Buicks, Ford had so much respect and Cadillac was a luxury car. They were tough cars, and Japanese cars were looked down upon like Korean cars now days I guess. Its the Americans that let that slip.
We bought a 2000 caprice SS, by 2007 I think I can literally call its a piece of junk.

None the less, American trucks and SUVs are still extremely popular in Saudia Arabia and Kuwait. Also sport cars are still doing well like Corvettes and Camaros.

As for us being rich, your media is literally mis-informing you. GDP of Kuwait and UAE/Dubai is equivalent to the USA, and my country along with Saudi and Oman has a small GDP than that of the USA. Also I believe "countries like mine" make a lot less than Europeans and American countries. Even countries that are not considered rich countries like Italy and Spain make a lot more money than us. Its just the media...

And as for oil, as i mentioned earlier, Oil exporting companies make more on Oil than oil producing countries. basically, ExxonMobil makes more on Oil than Saudia for example or Kuwait, and they make the American/European consumer pay for it!

Kingmohod, I'm personally not happy with current American trucks. They've all gone downhill WAAAY to much environmental stuff. In fact, if one takes it all off and puts a programmer in, its more environmentally friendly, runs better, and becomes much easier to work on. Dodges, overall, aren't that good of a truck. The newest models have finally fixed the transmission, but everything besides the motor and transmission is still crap. The rear ends are still really touchy, the leaf springs are still questionable at times, and I've heard a lot of people having problems with drive shafts, not too sure about that one.

(Still a bit biased, I'm a Ford man through and through on the truck end of things. Cars are a bit different story.)

I'm sorry for what I've said about the UAE. I'm just going off of what I've heard from one person, a kid who goes to my school. His family has duel citizenship, and they are somehow involved in oil, so he tells me all of this. Guess I shouldn't listen to him.

You'll learn that every student in school is completely full of shit and shouldn't be listened to.

The Rumors are true!
I did log on Halo 3 servers and there were only 20k players online...
how sad.

It hurts me to see something so lively on the top come down to this, hence why I hate to see a place after a party is over. What makes it even worse is that we are still in its generation. Its not like when Halo 2 was still played when people moved on the 360.

Do you think halo 4 will be take down COD to 2nd place?

@Forlorn
What would you say the best trucks are? What do you think of GMC?

He is not necessarily lying ...
here people do not pay taxes, so if a guy owns a Ferrari , he does not have to pay X amount yearly because he owns it. He can own 12 of them and pay nothing in taxes. So thats one thing less to worry about(I believe paying taxes on what you personally own is one of the most evil things that have ever been invented, how unfair ) .

Plus , rich people do exist here and they , unlike westerners , like to show it. As a matter of fact, even less fortunate ones like tend to live a life better than they could afford. For example, a common act in Kuwait is to buy a Ferrari for example, pay 12 month installments, and after the year is over he would sell the car to who ever wants to complete its installments. hence he got to enjoy a ferrari for a year paying just 12 installments...

Same guy can have 0 amount in the bank. Looks will fool you around here, its very normal for some one to have 80% of his monthly pay into loans and keeps 20% to live off for food and no savings.

I'd say GMC and Ford are about even for good trucks. There's not really a better one of the two, just small differences. For diesel, I'd personally prefer a Ford, just for the fact that I know how to work on it better. Gas wise, its anybody's game.

The main problem I have with Dodge is, over here at least, its usually a flashy way to show I have (or spend without a having) a lot of money. Similar to what you were saying with the Ferrari's, except some people force themselves into debt with it. Dodges are what most of the kids who live off of daddy's money drive. They'll jack it up, put a Bullydog and a chip in it, try to blow black smoke, put in some LED headlights, some ugly mirrors and fender flares, just overall make themselves look douchey. Really, you have to have money when you tear up a truck that's already prone to being broke down.

Meh. I'm biased, I won't lie. Like I said, the engine of a Dodge is good. (Cummins are great engines, they run really good.) But, like many people, I'd rip it out of a Dodge and stick it in a Ford.
