I remember the show seriously nosediving when they won the lottery, though i imagine it was already on a decline long before then. It's been ages since I've sat down and watched any of it.

The 'twist' series ending was such a copout too.

TV Land has been running a Roseanne marathon, and the idea of the show stopping when Roseanne starts writing makes some sense. Just from a couple of episodes a few things stand out:

Roseanne once says, "With my luck Mark will have a little brother for Darlene".

"Yeah, and we're also going to win the lottery"

Before Arnie was abducted by aliens, the entire casts choice insult to Arnie was "Come back to Earth"

Roseanne warning Becky she'll "wind up pregnant and living in a trailer"

Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch but foreshadowing in the show is a lot more prevalent than I had previously recognized.

Nosedive it does though after a handful of seasons. The best way to describe the show's downfall is that at once it was more of a well acted stage production and with each show the characters developed a bit more. And with a flip of a switch the show turned cornball sitcom.

The 180 the show took has piqued my curiosity. I'm going to do a little digging and see if there was an issue with the writing or production staff, because Roseanne really went from spectacular to shit.

Been watching The Office for the last couple of months on Netflix. Also been catching up on my DVDs of Home Improvement and The Cosby Show.
