Yeah, I just love that time as well... anything around the French Revolution. Nobody's Boy Remi is another good old one, in fact from the same director as Rose of Versailles. I might even like it more in some ways, though it's more of an adventure than historical/drama. Very intense melodrama too, it'll get you in the gut... lol.
So yeah if you like RoV, I think you'd easily like Les Miserables and Remi.

That's a shame but at least it's better than what happened here in Mexico with Animax. They started showing tons of anime (Hellsing, Gantz, Full Metal Panic Fummoffu!, Bleach, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, they even showed Urotsukidoji once after midnight without cuts!) just to later stop doing that and instead they replaced their programming with tons of Columbia/Tristar/Sony movies and Lost re-runs. The anime block then lasted around 30 minutesMichi wrote:SciFi was actually airing the original Yamato series earlier this year until they cut anime out of their line-up entirely. It was too bad really. I was enjoying it up until they stopped. I just had to mute that horrible English opening. Yeesh![]()
Also, you are right about the english opening

So I finished Mobile Suit Z Gundam the other day. I really liked it for the most part, but there's one big problem I need to complain about: the portrayal of some female characters
I still really liked it though! The good definitely outweighed the bad for me. It seems like there isn't much of that style of serious space-sci-fi much nowadays.
After finishing Z Gundam, I started Genesis Climber Mospeada (famous for being turned into the "New Generation" arc of Robotech). It's alright, definitely 80s-tastic, but it's definitely no Gundam...

I've been watching Elfen Lied again because I absolutely adore it.
I need to find the Ys anime.

Tomino's female characters are freaking hilarious. That's just a bad quirk of his in all of his shows, some female characters are good but they generally don't make sense at all and tend to suck. Katejina from Victory Gundam was the absolute worst I've ever seen, she has tri-polar disorder or something.

Just finished Hataraki Man. Talk about excellent. I don't have a full-time job but it still resonated.

Now that Toonami is finished airing Casshern Sins, I can officially say that I quite enjoyed it. It was very melancholy for the most part, but taken in a one episode a week dose, it wasn't too bad. It had some good actions scenes mixed in and an interesting art style that I grew to really like. Probably not something I'll plan on purchasing, but definitely interesting.
I like that Toonami is mixing up it's programming, too. It keeps things a bit more fresh when you finish airing a show and than immediately replace it with a new one. I don't really like that they've moved around a couple time slots, but I'll get over it. They're airing some things I haven't seen before, so I can't really complain.
Not really excited by the Tenchi Muyo! GXP prospect though. I was never really that into Tenchi to begin with.
