So who was on the SegaXtreme formus back in the day? I used to be on there. Still using the same user name. I know there are a couple of others on here. Racket and lordofduct I recognize, but who else used to post on the forums?

I posted maybe 10 times. I remember getting instructions on how to firmware flash my 4-in-1 on saturn to the final version.

I've heard of it, but never read any threads there. Is it still a good community? Maybe I would prefer an all-Sega place!

There's a few converts here, mostly for a reason.

Back at the turn of the millenia it was pretty booming. But a couple years ago it kinda started dieing down a bit, and then a lot. I remember a few years back at any time of the day you'd find like 5 or 6 of us on... even at 4 in the morning. I lurk about every once in a while, VBT is always trying to keep the place alive and I guarantee they'd be happy to have new members.

I think it comes from the lack of content. Racketboy gets a lot of users probably due to his blog and constant updates. SegaXtreme is almost strictly a forum. Yeah there's a NEWS section, but it's mostly like a forum section when updated. I think users might expect more from their websites then just a forum. SX is mostly a bunch of techies who love Sega.

Though I'm just around for the forums... no offense to Racket, but I think I've only read a total of 3 of his blogs.

Another Sega only forum you might want to check out is www.Sega-16.com, they do a lot of news and reviews on retro sega stuff. I never felt comfortable there though and stopped posting.

I posted there a few times as well fairly recently, I think under this username, and several years ago under another name I can't remember. It was good times around 2000, 2001, but like LoD said, it really died down.
