Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - how is it going?
1. Hotel Dusk Room: Room 215 (NDS)
2. Ecco the Dolphin (GBA port)
3. Final Fantasy II (GBA port) COMPLETE
4. Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii) COMPLETE
5. Starfox 64 (3DS port)
6. Sonic CD (NGC port)
7. Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (Intellivision - NDS port) COMPLETE
8. Guardian Heroes (SS)
9. Galactic Attack (SS)
10. Decathlete (SS)
I spent 115 hours (and counting...) playing Dragon Quest IX this summer; so, I was distracted from my list most of the summer. I finished up Muramasa last night, however; so, I got through three of the games on my list. I may also pick up Sonic CD tonight to see if I can check one more off of my list before the end of the month.

I finished 9 out of 10, but never really made any headway into Metroid Prime 3 because it went to my new house a month ahead of me
Better than last year's 8 out of 10, but not a patch on the year before where I beat my 26 alphabetical games.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - how is it going?
Yeah, with a measly 2 out of 10, this year was a disaster for me.
On the plus side, the 2 games I did beat were fantastic. I got real close to beating two more, but...
I dunno, I guess I just got bored. There were a couple of weeks where I didn't play any games at all, much less those from the list. When I finally forced myself to play something, it was Arkham City that I popped in, and it completely consumed me. After that, the list didn't really have a prayer.
Maybe next time.
What's funny, this is now two years in a row where I put Rayman 2 on my list, and I still haven't beaten it. I believe dsheinem did the same with Super Metroid.

Yeah, I kind of blew it this summer too. Interestingly enough, my actual games beaten list this year isn't too bad. I just didn't play much over the summer besides Tribes and TF2.
Older. Not wiser.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - how is it going?
1. Fatal Frame-PS2 (Maybe I'll finish it in October?)
2. Ico-PS2 (Beaten)
3. Resident Evil-GCN (Also maybe in October?)
4. Mario Kart Wii-Wii (Beaten)
5. Tomb Raider-PS (beaten)
6. Super Smash Bros. Brawl-Wii (so close...sorta)
7. Metroid Prime-GCN (Maybe someday..Winter Challenge?)
8. Indigo Prophecy-PS2 (still maybe up next?)
9. Fallout-PC (who knows if I'll finish this...ever...)
10. Kingdom Hearts-PS2 (Beaten)
Well 4 out of 10 isn't too bad apparently! That's actually better than I thought I would do. And I really was SO close to beating Brawl, but I didn't know there was an All-Star mode. I couldn't power through it. O well, I'm almost there. And I still beat some other games this summer and had a good time. Maybe next time I'll make my list smaller so I can feel better about my progress, but overall I'm quite happy with my summer gaming experiences.

I finished up Sonic CD last night, bringing my summer gaming challenge to an end. (It was pretty good...better than Sonic 1 but not as good - in my opinion - as Sonic 2.)
In any event, four out of ten isn't too bad if you are grading on a curve...

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - make your lists!
Well, let's see how I did.
Sonic Generations: got to the last boss, lost interest. It was great up until that point; sadly, bosses are SG's weak point.
MW2: Beat it.
Pokemon Red: Never did start it. Remains in my backlog for now, although I still intend to play it sometime.
Red Dead Redemption: Heck, I didn't even buy that one.
Kirby's Dreamland 3: Didn't start.
Killer7: Started it up, didn't like it.
Hitman 2: Didn't start.
Max Payne 2: Got to the last level, moved on to other things.
Portal 2: Didn't start.
Deus Ex 3: Started on PS3, sold it intending to buy the PC version instead, which I still have not done.
Hmm, I did really badly. I did beat something not on my list though: COD: Black Ops. I find it's easier to fit short games into my schedule than long ones. Still, this was the worst summer for gaming I've had since before I became a big gamer. I'd say it's part of growing up except that many of you work as much if not more than I, yet managed to accomplish more...

Never happened to me either.alienjesus wrote:I don't see how you even managed this, I'm pretty sure there's never a situation where you just get stuck.lisalover1 wrote:Well, the Great Bay Temple wasted no time in pissing me off, as should any water level. Seriously, if I get stuck and have to use the Song of Soaring to return to the entrance, that's a sign of bad level design, which I should expect better of from a Zelda game.

I failed so hard!!!BoneSnapDeez wrote: My top ten:
1. Adventure (Atari 2600)
2. Diablo II (PC)
3. Donkey Kong 64 (N64)
4. Final Fantasy Adventure (GB)
5. Golden Sun (GBA)
6. Ninja Gaiden (NES)
7. Faxanadu (NES)
8. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES)
9. Altered Beast (Genesis)
10. Parasite Eve (PS)
11. Xenogears (PS)
I worked this summer and took college classes. Simply ran out of time.
Plus I kept playing new games (like Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection) I purchased instead of these old ones.
Maybe next year!

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Challenge 2012 - make your lists!
Make a last minute push! I am certain you can get through both Adventure and Altered Beast in less than two hours. (Especially if you play the superior arcade version of Altered Beast with unlimited credits.) If so, you will be at 4 out of 10, which is many as I got through this summer.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I failed so hard!!!BoneSnapDeez wrote: My top ten:
