They did fix that.

PC if you've got the cash. PS2/Xbox are also fine choices. The Xbox version needs to be played on original hardware; iirc there are graphical issues if played on a 360.

I'd avoid the HD Collection unless you find it really cheap.

Such a huge contrast between the MGS and SH collections.

I think it goes to show exactly how Konami feels about those respective franchises.

SH2 was looking to be more than I wanted to pay to get the PC version, even importing, so I got the oXbox version instead. SH3 is cheaper, so I'll get that one on PC. Thanks for your help, guys.

One last thought: why is SH2 so very cheap on Xbox, compared to the other two versions? From what I've read it's got more content than the black-label PS2 release, and slightly sharper graphics without any added disadvantages. Is it merely due to the oXbox being largely ignored by both current-gen and retro gamers, or do most people just not realize this version even exists?

I think most people at the time knew the Silent Hill series as a playstation game. SH1 didn't come out on the oXbox and IIRC,the SH2 version on the oXBox came out well after it did on the PS2. I could be wrong though.

Pretty much just the bolded part here.

Almost everything is cheaper on the Xbox.

Three months later. Not a long enough gap to be responsible alone for the price difference.

Whatever you do, DON'T BUY THE SILENT HILL HD COLLECTION
Twin Perfect (a bunch of die hard Silent Hill fans who made a video series explaining the Silent Hill lore and why the western games sucks) just released a 2 hour video on Silent Hill HD collection and why it sucks. Don't give Konami and Tom Hulett money for raping the Silent Hill franchise.
In the part 2 they spend 70 minutes explaining how the new voice acting destroys the unique and well written characters of Silent Hill 2/3

My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box
