Hello,
I have not been online for such a long time, and lately my friends and I decided to play Halo. We launched Halo reach. We had 8mbps connection, still lags. Any way.
Any way, I argued with my friend that we should have played Halo3 instead because that is the popular one.(according to Wikipedia Halo 3 sold 8m, Reach 3.3m)
I was kind of upset about the number of online players. I did some research and it appears that Halo 3 online players are very low. I read it might be in the 2000s? While halo Reach is around 100k and I got no idea about ODST.
I always thought that Halo was the kind of game that you play to death , even after the console is dead you will find online players(that was the case with Halo 2 as I remember) .
What would you suppose be the reason for a game that sold 8m have such a low online players given that it is still in the current generation? Also Halo is one of the better online games , it was made to be played online.

Its just a case of the newer. Halo, like Call of Duty, has become a game people play until the next game in the series comes out. Reach will currently be your best bet for multiplayer. Halo 3 hasn't been pulling people since Reach came out.
Now when Halo 4 comes out, that'd be a great bet. However, you have said that new games are really expensive there, so...

Also, Reach is about 10000 times better than 3 for multiplayer. I just recently was telling some friends this and they didn't believe me because they loved 3 so much. Another friend brought Reach over and they went out and bought Reach the next day. The standard controls make so much more sense in Reach (B for melee in 3...Whaaat? Right Bumbper to get in vehicles???) and apparently Reach has considerably more game types.
and what Forlorn Drifter said.
But in this case newer definitely is better.

Liked Reach and the community online a lot more than the others (not saying much at all for Halo standards). Love the campaigns in the series but yeah, totally hate the main fanbase. I only played Reach when it was new so no idea how it is now.

I am very amazed at this because I thought Halo 3 was more like Super Smash Brawl and Mario Kart. You know like the games that you just keep on playing until the next console comes out.

Even though games are pricier here, the price is ok for getting a game that you will play the hell out of (CoD, FIFA, Halo online...u get the idea). The problem arises when you want to play more than one game. Your usual Christmas releases will end up being 4-5 games usually . 4-5 games * $67 = $335 !
More than the console itself! And the issue is that you cant get your money back, as there is no second hand market. So you can sell them back for $200 once you are done with them. Its just gone.
What is worse is price doesnt go down either. i bet you GTA 4 still costs something around $60 here. On amazon its $12. Personally I bought Modnation for around $87 when it was I believe less than $40 on amazon. You can see how that price builds up buying 2 to 3 games.

So how much do you pay for a gallon of gas? I would expect it to be less than $1 gallon. We're paying around $4/gallon in Mass. So you can use the savings on gas to buy the more expensive video games. It all evens out.kingmohd84 wrote: What is worse is price doesnt go down either. i bet you GTA 4 still costs something around $60 here. On amazon its $12. Nice come back, we pay $0.265 per liter . Its cheaper than bottled water literally (same price gets you 500ml water bottle) .
But what you don't realize is that your companies are ripping you off. As far as I know, Exxon or whoever takes GAS to the european/american countries , make more on GAS selling it to you.
basically, if country of export made $1m on gas shipment, the american companies will profit $2-3 m over it.
research it, i always wondered why gas was so expensive in Europe and America.
None the less, you still have many option like diesel cars(sold here but hardly seen..ever) , public transport(non existing) , plus your weather allows you to walk or ride a bike or a motorbike . If you go out in our weather you will get skin cancer due to sun light rays in 5 min.

This can depend on a lot really. While I don't think that many places in the U.S. are particularly bad in terms of temperature, there are extremes on the hot and cold ends of things.kingmohd84 wrote: research it, i always wondered why gas was so expensive in Europe and America.

What probably gets more Americans is infrastructure, at least relative to Europeans. For quite a lot of us, driving is either by far the most attractive option, or is the only (realistic) option. Not just a matter of rural areas either. Quite a lot of our country was set up after cars were already common, and can be a lot more spread out as a result - then we had active efforts on the part of the automobile industry to get rid of public transportation to boot.

I fully support getting rid of public transportation. I'm trying to get home during rush hour and the damn buses keep stopping right in front of me and I can't get around them because the traffic is solid in the other lane.isiolia wrote:then we had active efforts on the part of the automobile industry to get rid of public transportation to boot.
As for diesel, it fluctates but it tends to hover around the same price as gas, so it's not a big money saving option.

Had they not succeeded to the level they did, the likelihood that you'd be riding public transportation instead of driving yourself would be higher.MrPopo wrote:I fully support getting rid of public transportation.
