Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Is this in cases of legitimate rape?

Some places do list prices with tax included, like golf courses.

One reason for not listing the taxed price could be that a lot of states have sales tax that is a fraction of a percent, and if you buy multiple items the tax ammount may round differently.

Like gas used to be $#.##9 . I'm actually not sure if it isn't a thing anymore, or if just nobody bothers showing it anymore.

I think most places just don't bother showing it. I can think of a couple places around here that still have an extra 9 added to the end. Some places just hide it better by making the extra 9 a smaller font than the rest of the price.

I'm not sure where this thread's headed or why exactly it exists.

But it certainly is amusing.

So are we talking about sales taxes? Sales taxes are just fine by me if they are not excessive. It can be annoying when certain items are taxed considerably more than others though. That isn't the case for video games so I don't see the big deal.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

I don't understand nontaxables.

Like here, Powerade is taxed, but Gatorade isn't. What's up with that?

Here in Minnesota a few years ago we added a 75 cent tax to every pack of cigarettes sold for "health care costs." The thing is the state had already gotten a settlement from the tobacco companies so the tax was repealed but the prices never dropped back down to what they were before the tax. That still kind of pisses me off.

And don't get me started on using tax payer money for sport stadiums for horrible teams that the government gets no return on the investment.
