Who would like a contests and free stuff thread on this site

Post by retrogamer »

I am a member of a website called Cheapassgamer.com. They have a thread which is updated everyday called Contests & Free Stuff. I have already received alot of free items and can verify that the offers are indeed legit. With Racketboy's permission of course do the members here feel that this would be beneficial to the forums here? I'd be willing to be a moderator for the thread as well as make significant contributions to it. Before members post with their answer let's wait for Racketboy to respond first to see if he would be in favor of this idea since this is his website.

Here is an example of how each post should look under this catagory. This is an active contest by the way so feel free to enter. Hopefully a member of this site will win it.

Here is a contest I found today to win a XBOX 360 and some Lord Of The Rings dvd's. Good luck to all those who enter.

So how would this work on here?

Basically any member who knows about a contest or free giveaway can post the info here to be shared with the other members on this site. Check out the website cheapassgamer.com when you have some time and browse the catagory called contests & free stuff. By browsing that for a bit it will give you a good feel as to how it works. Also on your forums main page you would need to add a category called Contests & Free Stuff instead of people posting these deals under the Whatever category. I check the CAG site frequently everyday so I'd be happy to post everything I find on there as well as other sites that I visit that have similar deals. I can also volunteer to be a moderator for this catagory to make sure that what is being posted by other members is of value to the community and not spam or offers that require credit card info, or having to complete a certain number of offers. You would need a sticky at the top of the thread with some rules and disclaimers like the other sites do. It's also not a bad place to put advertisments in to offset the costs of operating this site.
