Kingmo hasn't clarified his post but once again, so Wii & PS3 HDD loading is okay but once we talk about the same thing with the 360, all bets are off? :P

just wondering if any one did it successfully ?
Of course. It's easy to do back-ups on the 360 and even do HDD loading. I haven't done/tried it yet as I only have about a dozen 360 games but no 360 yet - but the guides and info on the web shows that it's been done and is easy. I will be doing HDD loading on the 360 when I get one (mainly because it's better than disc-based).

And c'mon people, let's not all be so hypocritical when we've been talking about HDD loading on Wii and PS3 as well. It's not like he's asking for warez and downloads to current gen.

(edit - but I would change your post title though)

good points. it's called "assuming". :) :)
True... but then why didn't the PS3 & Wii HDD loading & back-ups get shut down? ;) Why don't PSP softmodding topics get locked?

Regardless of all this, Kingmo, if you want to do back-ups, disc or HDD, there isn't a softmod solution for it AFAIK. You'd either need to chip/hardmod your machine or get a device, like the Wii's WODE, to play games you would rip from games you own and play off the HDD.

If your intent was to pirate, well, as people have said, it's not hard to find that information via Google but you really should support the current gen of the industry (again, if that was your intent). I hope that wasn't your intent because then by my assumption I now look foolish for defending you.

I dont see why this is illegal,
there is no copyright infringement here(I mean this topic) . No copyrighted material shared, nor even information on how to do it.

I was just asking if it was an easy or complicated process and if you have been successfully doing it. Of course , my intention is not to shut down these forums , especially when i have seen discussions of backups and building cartridges with ROMS in this forum.

D.D.D.

Where I live games cost a lot, the price will not go down. They are still selling Gamecube games for $60 or so. I dont know of any second hand market where I can buy used games, and suppose I pay the full amount of a new game, thats money burnt because i also do not know place where I can sell my games.

if I pick 3 games , I'll average $67 each, thats $200 gone out of my pocket. One guy bought GTA 4 with price tag of $127 here when it first came out! May I add I am current unemployed.

I do buy digital though where prices are more fare like on GOG and bundles. Also I would buy current/last gen games on stuff XBL and PSN , but with games running between 4GB-7GB , and I got a bandwidth limit of 40GB per month(I pay $80 for) which is y by the end of each month. basically, I can download less than 1 current gen. game per month.

Beats me. I'm not a mod. I just like giving my opinion.

because shipping costs. If the total package weight(including the box itself) reaches 1.12 pounds I have to pay $18 for the shipping (USA-> my country) that is not to include IN USA shipping $5. SO basically a $10 game would end up costing me +$5 in USA shipping+ $18 over seas shipping=$33 . Shipping is twice the price of the game :p

My opinion, if the developers cares not to have his games pirated, maybe they would support this region for a change. But they dont, so we dont care. Even DVDs do not have local language subtitles. Also , technically, there is no guarantees or warranties . When my xbox RROD , I had to ship it to my friend in USA, then he shipped it to Microsoft , then ship it back to me. I believe I paid something around $100 in shipping just to get a faulty product fixed(which I already paid for) .

If the developer/company doesnt care about us, why should we care about them?

1) Playing backups or ripping to a hard drive does not equal "pirating".

2) Xbox 360 is still considered current-gen?

Hasnt been locked since it was a question of it being possible. If it gets deeper than what it is now, itll be locked.

just so I understand then Fast, you're saying we should NOT have a thread about pirating current-gen games?

If it gets any deeper into the conversation than this it will be locked. Honestly, if I had seen this when it was first posted it would have been deleted.
