I'm interested in the PSP-3000, but just having bought a 2000 model, I'm probably not going to buy one. My current model plays games well enough for me.

People hate on the PSP like it was going out of style. It's best to ignore childish arguments rather than acknowledge them. :D The argument worth hearing is the one that a new PSP should include a second analog stick and a built-in flash drive. I agree with the former, if only to be able to play FPS with a dual analog setup, which would be the next best thing to a keyboard and mouse, but you can't make that as portable as the PSP. :P

The flash drive argument is weaker, especially since it would constrain the PSP to a 2, 4 or 8 GB drive that would become obsolete in months.

And I still haven't modded my PSP, so feel free to bring the shame train over my head...

I'm sick of all these tiny updates that Sony keeps making to the PSP. They should've been there from day one. If I had it my way, the PSP would be shaped like the original GBA, but maybe a little larger. R1, R2, L1, L2 triggers. Two analog sticks. Built in flash memory with an option for more via memory stick. /DROOOOL

That could be good but IMO it would be alot larger than the SP due to the fact that A) Its got more shoulder buttons B) There was just enough room for A, B and the Thumbpad on it. C) The PSP gets alot of its praise for its nice, large, beautiful screen, something that would be eliminated if it were close to the size of the Game Boy. Just a quik thought, ive been hearing this "why doesnt it have dual analog sticks so fps's are easier to play?!?!?!oneone11!". Well If I recall correctly their was no problem w/ the layout of the Dreamcast controler for FPS's when it came out and it has virtually the same buttons as a PSP (minus the select button of course). Just a thought...

I never stoop so low as to insult someone on a online forum but damit Ryan would you just listen to what people have to say for once and deal with it, instead of inflating these threads with your fan rants. I don't think you realize that you are doing more harm than good.

In anycase, I'm not sure why Sony had to make such a big deal over this. The PSone and PS2 were continuously tweaked throughout their time and nobody really cared. Considering that I am yet to play a PSP (yet whoring the console from my brother) this is positive news.

People that hate on the PSP are seriously just jumping on the "it's cool to be a pessimistic prick" bandwagon that still shackles this industry to the floor. Horah for oppressive online culture.

Oh and yes the PSP is not a failure. It's dug 35 million unit's into the once Nintendo only portable market. I wonder how different the outcome would have been if Nintendo hadn't decided to focus on an expanded market? There are also a plethora of fantastic games (much more than what the DS has dribbled out in the last 2 years (NB: despite also being an equally awesome console)) but you'd know that if you didn't succumb to the plague above.

Meh, I've only really been intrested in a PSP for Patapon. Played it on mates PSP for like 10 mins and it was a bit of a laugh, but I can imagine it getting old very very quickly! Apart from that my DS with a R4 plays every game I need it to, and then some. Tetris DS can occupy me for 4 hours without even knowing that time has passed! As for the 3000 revision... I'd be more intrested in one of the originals now as it'll be cheap to buy. £15-20 is the price I'd pay for one, I've realised I'd pay more on an Atari Jaguar than a PSP!

That's a low blow!

My opinion of you just jumped about 50 points. I've been planning on getting a PSP for a long time, mostly for Street Fighter, Maverick Hunter X, and Wipeout. Now that the PSP is getting another revision it's pretty much set in stone that I'm going to get one, probobly right after Christmas since my relatives always sends me money.

How about a better D-pad? Better screen aspect ratio for emulation? That's too shitty of an upgrade to be called "PSP2".

its not a PSP2 and it wasnt built for emulation in the first place. If you ask me, the Dpad on the PSP is actually pretty good although i can see how people would find it uncomfortable.
