Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Just got back from the new Judge Dredd movie. I was afraid it wasn't going to be cheesy enough, boy was I glad I was wrong. It's a very 80's style action movie with over-the-top Paul Verhooven levels of violence and cheesy one-liners galore delivered by a grizzly, no-mercy hero.
Had a really good time though my girlfriend and I felt awkward being the only people in the theater who were laughing.

Karl Urban kills doesn't he?Gunstar Green wrote:Just got back from the new Judge Dredd movie.
Now the nitty gritty: Would you agree every action sequence in Dredd tops every action sequence in TDKR?
And if you haven't watched RAID: THE REDEMPTION, rent or buy it now.

Silent Hill (2006)
I'm not sure what the general opinion is, but I think this is a great film. The cinematography is captivating, the cast is convincing and well-chosen, and I think they really managed to retain that video game essence. Can't wait for the sequel next month. I'll be there opening night, large Diet Pepsi in hand.

I've been hearing a lot of good reviews for this movie. I'm definitely seeing this one, but I'm gonna wait for it to hit the cheap theater in town.Gunstar Green wrote:Just got back from the new Judge Dredd movie. Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I remember watching this a few years ago and feeling very "meh" about it. I remember thinking it started off well, but then getting confused about half way through. It did have excellent atmosphere though, I agree with that 100%. And Pyramid Head was impressive for the short amount of time he was on screen. Honestly though, I don't remember much beyond that.....Perhaps it deserves an updated viewing.Nintendork666 wrote:Silent Hill (2006)

Oh, and to anyone who's interested, TCM is re-airing The Town That Dreaded Sundown tonight at 2:15am EST. This movie only got a sub-par VHS release and can be a pricey pain to track down online. TCM airs the cleaned up widescreen version, so I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone is interested.

I've got a lot of problems with it, but it's still the best live action video game movie I've ever seen.Nintendork666 wrote:Silent Hill (2006)

I just noticed that someone was kind enough to upload the widescreen version of The Town That Dreaded Sundown to Youtube, so those of you who are TCM deficient don't have to miss out. The only downside is you loose a brief shot of nudity because the uploader was trying to avoid getting flaggedMichi wrote:Oh, and to anyone who's interested, TCM is re-airing The Town That Dreaded Sundown tonight at 2:15am EST. I second this: the action sequences are very visceral.Luke wrote:

Unrelated: If you've never heard of or seen a movie with Tony Jaa; rent one. You will be amazed.
