Re: PS3 Super Slim... disappointed?
I'd say the Wii died after Christmas 2010. That was the last time it had high profile released. Well it got Xenoblade and some other games after that, but they were niche. Just a gift from Nintendo to reward its most loyal fans who sticked with them to the end.

Even if there is data to prove this statement wrong, I agree.ZeroAX wrote:I'd say the Wii died after Christmas 2010. That was the last time it had high profile released. Maybe there were a few games here or there, but none had crazy midnight releases nor did the hype (thinking Zelda SS) last past the release date.

Taking a backseat to Xbox and PS3? Pretty sure the Wii is leading the current generation in sales...EvilRyu2099 wrote:I think the Wii died mid 2011 tbh.. Had good holiday sales because ti was the cheapest console.. I think it honestly had more life.. It's just amazing how bad of a back seat it has taken to the HD twins.. And I honestly don't think Wii U will take off either..MrPopo wrote:Since when is a 6 year run "killing it early"?

But not software support (or sales for that matter if you don't count Nintendo games).Retrogamer0001 wrote:Taking a backseat to Xbox and PS3? I don't agree with the 3rd party mentality that they can't compete on Nintendo consoles, to me it's more like they aren't bothered too cause it would take imagination and risk, and as we know 3rd parties just don't do that. I mean with the exception of No More Heroes (which DID sell well), all other 3rt party efforts on the Wii were either too niche to be very successful (Little King Story, Zack and Wiki, Murashama....come on these games wouldn't have been successful on any console, bar perhaps the PS2 or DS), or their pitch was too stupidly gimmicky (like the conduit games which apparently have boring gameplay but High Voltage expected people to be hyped up for them cause of their good graphics for wii games......)

Here's the 10 highest rated Wii games of the last 12 months. Pretty pathetic.SpaceBooger wrote:Even if there is data to prove this statement wrong, I agree.ZeroAX wrote:I'd say the Wii died after Christmas 2010. It's still better than the last two years of the Gamecube, at least. A lot of Nintendo fans spent 01/11/05 - 11/19/06 replaying RE4.
Edit: That's actually 8, not 10. And if you modify the search to include games with fewer reviews, Rayman Origins pops in although that's far from exclusive.

Xenoblade is AMAZING (system seller for me, even though I already owned a wii) but yeah from the rest of those games, slim pickings (though the 3rd and 4th game seem interesting too, don't get me started on zelda though).BoringSupreez wrote: Here's the 10 highest rated Wii games of the last 12 months. Yes, I think I abandoned my gamecube completely after the first 2 years. Though in 2004 I got Tales of Symphonia which kept me busy, but other than that...

Only two of those games are not published by Nintendo.

It's a combination of that and the fact that the majority of the high-profile releases this year have a heavy multiplayer component to them which just doesn't work very well on the Wii.ZeroAX wrote:I don't agree with the 3rd party mentality that they can't compete on Nintendo consoles, to me it's more like they aren't bothered too cause it would take imagination and risk, and as we know 3rd parties just don't do that.

Apparently... Sony doesn't even have a rebuttal on the price.
C'mon Sony, just give this damn system the price cut it needs.
