Smile: I've mentioned this before, but I had a friend who moved out to LA and told the most outlandish stories, all of them were either true or have a lot of merit. He drank at strip clubs with Seth MacFarlane and told me Family Guy was going back on air (along that Seth said he was taking Fox for a ride). He told me stories of photo shoots where Beyonce had her abs airbrushed on. He had Thanksgiving dinner one year with the rapper Lil' Jon.
All kinds of stories that seemed impossible, but everything panned out and I never had a reason to doubt him.
One thing he told me that he firmly believed in was that the "church" of scientology had a duty to set up closeted homosexual celebrities with fake marriages. He swore by it. And this comes out:
http://www.scientologynews.org/sites/de ... g-2012.pdf
Needless to say THE MASTER has some explicit nudity in it, and also has some homosexual under/overtones to it. And although it is only a movie, at times it corresponds with what my friend deduced.
tldr/obvious statement: scientology is a fucking sham.
Ticked: Said friend died years ago and I still miss him dearly. Like a little brother he was to me.

Frown- I went to tutorials, asked about the paper and she told me the instructions on the paper. I told her I knew that and I needed help and she told me to figure it out. Then she went AnD actually helped a kid with the paper, but I had already done that.

Welcome to the front door of higher education. Just take it for granted moving forward that your teachers will not have the time and resources to focus on just you and get the job done yourself. You honestly do not understand how easy it is to learn ANYTHING these days thanks to the Internet.SamuraiMegas wrote:Frown- I went to tutorials, asked about the paper and she told me the instructions on the paper. Show some pluck.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Yup.
Instead of complaining on a forum, spend your time studying. If you are looking for sympathy you will find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis.
If you have major problems with Algebra ass-eye, contact a local tutor. There are hot college female tutors who are more than willing to help. And quit cursing your teachers names; bad form and it doesn't come off well. You'll learn in time, and I don't want to be tough on you, but hard work = money. Take the effort to learn your own way when possible.

I have been studying, constantly in classes. Trust me, that's the nicest thing any kid at my school has ever said about her. I gets pretty bad, the things people say

They can help, but not pre-requisites, at all.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
This has a set up from a couple of months ago sorry if it's a tl:dr. I'm a teller. Sometimes we have secret shoppers that are sent in to be assholes on purpose. We have to do a few things:
Smile
Greet them by last name: "Thank you Mr Jackoffski"
Ask if there's anything else we can do for them before they leave.
And lastly, answer a stupid question like "Where can I get forms for applying for a business loan?"
Typically the answer would be "In the fucking loan department. GTFO my face." But we have to tell them where to find them, or how to download them, etc. Sometimes its a current savings percentage rates question, etc. You get the idea. 9.99999 times out of 10, the secret shoppers are old fogeys with literally nothing better to do all day that make it their mission to be pissed off in life and take it out on hardworking individuals at businesses they frequent. We can usually spot them from a mile away, or can tell we're being 'shopped' while it's happening. Subtlety is rarely their forte.
If we get a "perfect shop" we get $25. If they say the person went above and beyond the call of duty, we get $35. Not a huge deal, but hey - its $25 to $35. Free money, right?
We had a lady come in and I could tell I was being shopped. I helped her in the lobby, but it was through a Remote Teller Station. Sort of like a drive through 'tube' system, but in the lobby. That way drive through tellers can help lobby people if the lobby teller is inundated, or just gone home for the day.
She was a nice lady, asked her "what are your rates" question, and went on her way. A month later I get a notice from my boss that I got shopped, and - I didn't get a perfect shop. I already call bullshit, but whatever. I see the notes and the lady is completely complementing my work. I was nice, I had a huge smile, I was extremely helpful, I did everything I needed to do. But she had one complaint. When she walked in, the two women up front were gossiping about some crap that I don't know/care about. They didn't stop their gabbing to greet her and ask if she needed help. So in her handwriting on the form, in the "additional comments" I see:
"John was extremely helpful and took care of everything I needed. The only problem with the visit was that the girls up front didn't greet me."
I got dinged for that, and lost Not only the $35. But even the simple $25 that I would have gotten as a 'good' review.
I was livid. It wasn't my fault that she complained. And the fact is, she's only supposed to talk about the experience with the teller. Even if some random guy were to come in fart in her face while she was there, that event should not be counted as part of my secret shop criteria. I told my manager (who is a fucking moron of a woman) that she needs to talk to the VP, who incidentally handles these types of things. She refused. She kept saying how it wasn't that big of a deal, its not going to affect my record, blah blah blah. Fuck my record - I WANT MONEY. She was obstinate and refused. Fine, I let it slide.
Fast forward a month or so and some random call comes in, sent to my exact extension. I answer it and the guy is asking detailed questions about some kind of IRA or CD account, which I have ZERO information on. I ask how he got my extension and he said he was transferred from Member Response (our operators). So some retard operator just transferred him incorrectly. So I tell him my manager can field his questions, let me transfer you. She talks to him, hangs up, no big deal.
This morning, my manager is all pissed off when I get in. Turns out that guy that was transferred to me was a secret shopper - for the Loan Dept. My manager is also co-manager of the Loan Dept. She apparently aced the secret shop. Met all of the criteria the Loan Dept needs to meet. He complained about "the completely clueless teller who didn't know anything about IRAs" and that he should have been transferred properly the first time.
She didn't get a perfect shop. She lost out on her bonus. I dont know how much it is, but im almost positive its more than $35 for managers/loans. So what do I hear her say? "I'm gonna call the VP. John never should have gotten the call, so that part of the situation is irrelevant!"
She actually did call. The VP said "too bad."
Karma. Bitch.
