Multiplayer Gamemap Idea

Post by fastbilly1 »

I wanted to bounce an idea off you guys before I dive into it to some degree. I have thought for a long time about creating guides for old multiplayer games and now have the tools to do most of what I wanted to do. The basic idea was to create maps with beginner and advanced information pointed out - ie spawn points, weapon spawns, high traffic areas, etc. In the future I would like to add tips and/or strategies from the hardcore fans, but that is much further down the line.

What sparked this was about a year ago when I was playing Goldeneye with some friends when one remarked that he would be a lot better if he could remember the maps. My thought was that if I had a document of somesort to let people (re)acquaint themselves with the games it may give me a more active population of competition.

We are not just talking about FPS games either, any multiplayer game really. So what do yall think? Waste of time or something that could possibly be cool/useful?

I'd say go for it, but start with a classic title, something that got played a good bit. We talked on the phone, but you mentioned possibly Turok 2? I say give it a start with that.
