you bought Pilotwings? Man, there's one born every minute.
I almost bought it too, I don't think you have much of an argument. When you only launch with 2 games, chances are you're gonna buy both. What a pathetic launch that was.
Better than the 3DS launch at least. I'd rather a system launch with one timeless classic than several throwaway titles.

this is how I see it as well. A few pages back Dave posed a question about if there were Wii games that looked like they couldn't run (visually) on PS2/GCN/Xb and I found that intriguing. Especially the GameCube part. I'm curious about games that were released on both GameCube and Wii (Twilight Princess, etc) -- did the Wii versions actually look any better?

I've stayed out of this thread's original question, but since I'm posting here I might as well just say this. The Wii is the only console this gen I bought new instead of used. And I own two of them. Yet I have zero interest in the Wii-U. Of the two of us, my wife is the bigger fan of the Wii console, and she has confirmed that she has no interest in "upgrading" to the Wii-U either.*

*This has nothing to do with graphics, and I promise I'm not trolling.

I have Wii , bought on like second year of launch(because it was hard to get one before that) . I bought it on the potential that great games will be released making great fun use of the motion controls. Boy i was wrong.

Now I enjoy the Wii because it allows me to enjoy GC games + 16bit era console games. Ironic to buy a current gen console to be able to play past generation games.

Games I'm considering:

Assassin’s Creed 3
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Darksiders 2
Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
Tank! Tank! Tank!

Games I will definitely be picking up:
New Super Mario Bros. U
Nintendo Land
Zombi U
And whenever it comes out - Pikmin 3

With the $350 bundle, but not the $300 base model.

I see a lot of potential buyers in the thread for WiiU Rayman Legends. I played it and the touch screen for the second player was boring. It was just a "follow the dots" tap here then there to get the lume character to keep up with Rayman. The level demonstrated that I played was similar to the timed race levels of Wii Rayman Origins. The game gave me an impression of nothing new compared to Origins except for the touchpad hit the dots which was monotonous. Hopefully there is more to it since the Nintendo Lounge display was probably the beta version.

Day 1 buy for me.

The system will definitely be the underpowered of the 3 as MS and sony release their next gen systems, but Nintendo has always been the best 1st party developer around. With the wii system, I thought to myself many a time how amazing galaxy one or two would have looked in hd.

It's great that not only will we get to see zelda or mario or smash bros in hd, but also that nintendo is making a system powerful enough to let them explore more creative design. That has been, after all, whether through the ds, or wii, or hell, even rob the robot on nes, the trademark of nintendo.

Now they just have to bring back that good old nintendo golden seal of approval so we don't get a wealth of shovelware like the wii did.

 Yes, that's why NES didn't get shovelware.

There were very few NES games that a kid my age (at the time) would not have at least rented from the video store.

That just means you had bad taste as a kid.
