I know the system is still very new, and a long ways from being a "retro" system. But do you think there are any games that are or will become rare or valuable. I can only really think of one off the top of my head and that is Zak & Wiki due to its great gameplay, but low sales dispite the rave reviews. I think it will be one of those underated games that people will come back to down the road and spike the price back up to it's current levels or higher.
Maybe No More Heros would fall into that as well.

I personally don't see any games for the newer gen consoles (Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, PS3 or Xbox 360.) ever becoming that valuable. Everything is so mass-produced now that all the games will be incredibly cheap in the next few years. Just look at the prices for old Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube games for the most part they're very cheap.
Yeah, the average last gen game is around $7 and down, even the rare ones don't go much more than original retail value. I doubt there will even be many limited editions and collectors editions selling high, even those are being made in rather high supply nowadays.pompeyparsons wrote:I personally don't see any games for the newer gen consoles (Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, PS3 or Xbox 360.) ever becoming that valuable. I say give it time. A lot of folks are jumping the gun and selling their stuff to upgrade. In a few years, prices will raise as fewer and fewer of certain titles appear on the market.
As for more titles being on the market, it makes sense. Gaming is reaching a bigger audience, so games are produced more to make sure more gamers can purchase a copy. Since so many of these folks aren't collectors, they'll sell it for the next big thing every time. But with a lot of titles on the market, that means a lot more titles to get damaged or destroyed or simply lost. Like I said before, give it time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you want to know if there are any rare Wii games? So far there isn't really too much. I just spotted Zack and Wiki for $20 new at Gamestop, so it will probably be awhile before that one picks up (if it does). Right now the rarest game I know of on the console is Kororinpa: Marble Mania. I haven't seen it in stores since just after it came out and it usually eBays for upwards of $35 (which considering its age is really good).

My main rule of collecting is to look for stuff that gets discontined early. I have a boxed DS web browser that I think will become very valuable.

Odin Sphere less so, since they just got a greatest hits release. But I'll agree that most of the Atlus titles might start to command high prices down the road, as they tend to have small print runs and are niche titles. Trauma Center excluded, of course.I would say that Persona 3 FES, Odin Sphere, and Grim Grimoire would become quit rare.
