Watched a video about it today, and that top loading mech looks pretty fragile IMO. And they still just include a composite cable in the box!

You mean composite?

Still amazes me how many people confuse composite with component and vice versa.

Thank you for the correction, I was thinking composite and out came component.

No worries. Some people just don't know. Would be nice if it came with component or HDMI. That 20 cents it would cost to include an HDMI cable is just too much.

Yeah agree. At this point the people who do not have HDMI should be the ones who have to go out and buy an additional cable. Any TV sold in the last 5-6 years should have HDMI. Do we really still need to cater to grandma?

Seemed to work out pretty well for Nintendo.

It might be nice to own a PS3 with an actual CD tray, it'll make it less of a liability down the road.

I've heard people saying Sony's making these PS3s more cheaply than before... I'll see how they are once they come out, then decide whether or not to buy one. If it's an improvement over the existing slim, I'll get one once the PS4 is out and they get a real price drop.

I'm kinda frustrated by this. I thought waiting till last Christmas would ensure that I got one of the latest (and hopefully best) PS3 models. I just really wasn't expecting 2 major hardware revisions. Now I kinda hope these new models are horrible so I get the last laugh.

I guess they really ARE serious when they say this console generation will be going for a few more years yet.

I liked the slim update but I am disappointed with this new update. The sliding door isn't doing it for me and the price is wrong. My favorite model remains as the original 60GB model. I love the memory card slots, nice piano back and chrome finishes, and full ps1 and ps2 backward compatibility.
