no.
I stopped playing this game on the Wii because it won't get my input on the slashing...
I opened a thread in this forum about this topic and people said that they (developers) messed up this part , because it was easier to do it on the analogue stick on ps2
Getting a slash to register on the Wii version was almost impossible unless you were using the Z button to paint. Using the Z button made whatever line you drew perfectly straight. I was ready to flip a freaking table until I figured that out. It's super dumb that they only talk about that mechanic in the manual. Something that important should have been in the freaking tutorial.
Also, I'm with Dsh. Buy a Nintendo console because you want Nintendo games (and the unique 3rd party games). Nothing I've seen in any of the videos shows any real improvement over PS3/360 stuff. The WiiU will probably be outclassed power-wise when the PS4 and next Xbox are released. There isn't even a game on the system yet that runs above 720p .
Wow I honestly never knew that they managed to screw up the one thing that'd give Okami on Wii a huge edge over the ps2 version. That's kinda shocking.
You'd think the Wii remote would be absolutely perfect for that game...

Sounds like I was dead wrong.
Most of the motions work well. They are much faster to use than they were on the PS2, which really improves battle speed. The basic slash though.... it's seriously rage inducing until you figure out the Z button thing. I was experiencing "Wiimote through the TV" level frustration.

You realize that Nintendo is promising better graphics than any other console on the market, right? So watered-down isn't quite the right word here. I think you're looking for "enhanced" port. Like many PS1 ports to the Dreamcast.
I am guessing that Nintendo was comparing its 2012 console to the 2005 console Xbox 360 when they said looking for "enhanced" ports.
I dont think they are talking about xbox 720 or ps4 which Would come out in the next 2 years or less.
Plus I think "enhanced" means different gameplay with the tablet, not better graphics.
Of course they were, since the 720 and PS4 doesn't even exist yet and we know like no details on them. There are no ports to enhance from systems that don't exist yet.

I'm not gonna argue with you about something I haven't even played yet. If you have a problem with what they're saying about the graphics, talk to the media. They've hyped the hell out of it at E3, Comic-Con, and in gaming magazines. I'm just saying what they're telling us.
Here's a link breaking it down. It claims "50% better", however I'm not sure how they come up with such a number:

It might run smoother but there wouldn't be any better graphics, unless using two tablets, because idk.

several sources have pointed towards the Wii U being about 50% more powerful than current generation consoles.
Those "sources" are not defined, it's a company-specific fansite, and the suggested specs are thoroughly torn apart in the comments. Of course Nintendo will hype the graphics at E3, etc. - but you suggested that gaming media is "telling us" that the graphics are impressive compared to PS3/360. I've seen zero evidence of this, nor have you provided evidence of this particular part of the supposed "hype" around the console. I brough up my own experience because I find it to be consistent with what game media has collectively suggested: Wii U graphics are meh.
Again, I don't really care: I don't look to Nintendo for graphics anymore than I look to MS for family friendly franchises. But I do care about claims being substantiated and yours still aren't.

What do you want? A bibliography? Don't shoot the messenger, tell all your gripes to magazines and websites hyping all this.
