Re: Is there a gun thread?
I love guns i been shooting since i was 10yrs old and have shot everything from target, skeet, animals to shooting at some asshole trying to rob my house. I belive every female should carry a gun to protect themselves cause guys are going to think twice about shit if they know they will get shot. I am more inclined as a girl to shoot to maim that way the person has time to reflect on how they got shot.

I don't know anything about guns, but if I were to ever get one I'd want it to be that one. Looks awesome.indecks wrote:

I've never been in that situation, but I'd shoot to maim too. Except I'd keep going until the clip was empty.cookie monster wrote:I am more inclined as a girl to shoot to maim that way the person has time to reflect on how they got shot.
I'd like to get a revolver of some sort, preferably with a long barrel. Every time I see something like that though, the seller wants $400 or more for it.

The odd thing is, in most places in the US, intentionally maiming is illegal in comparison to killing in self defense. A shot to the shoulder would be enough to stop most criminals... but that's illegal if they can prove it was intentional. Weird how laws are.BoringSupreez wrote:I've never been in that situation, but I'd shoot to maim too. Re: Is there a gun thread?
ForlornDrifter, it's because using a firearm is seen as deadly force, no matter where you shoot somebody. It's in the nature of a bullet to be destructive, and a shot in the shoulder could be just as deadly as a shot to the chest. Also, if you told a DA that you only wanted to maim somebody, they're going to assume your life wasn't in danger, hence you were wrong in pulling a gun.
BoringSupreez, depending on the revolver, $400 is probably a good price for most brands.
Also, it's magazine, not clip. Sorry, but after having to do push-ups every time someone said the wrong thing around an instructor, you want everybody to get it right

i fired off a few rounds from an AR-15 once and a 9 milli. Some of us guys took a weekend excursion out into the middle of no-where in PA around State College to a cabin for the weekend, nothing but guns and liquor. Looking back, i'm glad no one got shot that weekend.
Re: Is there a gun thread?
I own a Colt .38 Special, stainless steel, single action. Six inch barrel, but one day I would like a snub nose. It looks like a toy, until you fire it.
I'm thinking about purchasing a Taurus PT-22. Sucker fits on your pocket.

Re: Is there a gun thread?
lol thanks. There are several other guns out there that are much cooler than the 92fs, but I do still love the gun. It's got a classic "70s cop movie" look to it. Eventually I'd love to get me a 1911. In fact, the 1911 was my next gun that I planned on getting. I wanted to move up to a 45, but I just decided to stay in the 9mm caliber for a couple of reasons. For one, 9mm ammo is half the price of 45 ammo. You can get a box of 100 9mm's for $22, or you can get a box of 50 45's for that same price.harper wrote: I don't know anything about guns, but if I were to ever get one I'd want it to be that one. Also this gun was much cheaper than a nice 1911. And it's almost brand spankin' new.

My Father loves his Colt 1911 and one day I might pick one up. I tend to prefer revolvers as there is no safety, and when you point it at someone they know the gun is loaded and you're not fucking around.indecks wrote: Also this gun was much cheaper than a nice 1911. Re: Is there a gun thread?
I have a Sig P229R .40
Got a good deal on it. I take it to the range occasionally and have Iraq for home defense. Though I do eventually want to get my CHL and carry it in my vehicle with more eease.
I also want a .357 magnum revolver at some point as well haha.
