I have only one game with all achievements unlocked, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. They're pretty easy so it's nothing really.

I'm replaying Borderlands and I want to get all the achievements now. I need help with Moxxi and Crawmerax, though!

I have to give a mention to the Victory trophy in Double Dragon Neon. There's nothing special about the trophy itself. It's your typical beat the game trophy, but when the game actually gives it to you is quite funny

This. And there are several achievements in World of Warcraft take take a lot of teamwork, dedication and skill to get (too bad they usually dont remove then when the content gets nerfed, people get new gear etc, but atleast they tend to remove any rewards those achievements might give if they used to be super rare). Some of them were about killing a boss with certain hinderances, which forced players to think of new strategies because the fights got a lot harder. Then there were achievements like clear the whole raid instance from start to finish with no one dying and there was one encounter in particular where always some people died because they didn't know how to move during that fight (Heigan the unclean in WOTLk, which was million times easier than the original classic Naxxramas). And achievements like get the gladiator title (0.5% of all arena teams get it at the end of arena season). And achievements that require mad amounts of farming, like 100 000 honor kills, which takes 6+ months of playing battlegrounds 6+ hours a day every day these days.
Also games like meat boy, Mega Man 9 and so one where you actually need to work for your achievements, even if they aren't as creative as the one in HL2E2. Achievements that you need to earn. What's the point of them if you get them on a normal playthrough? They break immersion and are a very cheap and poor way to add "content" to a game anyways so I wouldn't object if all achievements and trophies were to be removed, since the bad to good achievement ratio is about 100:1 in modern console games.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

One that I worked and worked and worked on in college was The Mile High Club on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Clear the jet in less than a minute. Man was that tough, but extremely satisfying.

Half Life 2: Episode 1 had a challenging achievement (which I managed to win). One Bullet: you're only allowed to shoot one bullet the entire game, and that one must be used to break a lock on a door early on. Otherwise, you're only allowed use of the gravity gun and crowbar.

I attempt to get all the achievements for any game with achievements/trophies that I'm playing. Mostly I'm successful -- proudest moment, soloing all the Moxxi achievements in Borderlands for a perfect set of achievements. Awwwww yeah!

I know that a lot of people don't like achievements, but for me, they're the best thing that happened to games in this generation. Except for multiplayer achievements -- and games with multiplayer achievements that had their servers go offline so they are never achievable. That's horseshit. :(

I really enjoyed the trophies/achievements they added to the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. When it comes to re-releases, they give new incentive for another play through.

I got the one in Metal Gear Solid 3 for getting through the game without killing anyone, and I decided to do it on European Extreme. I felt pretty accomplished, but the entire time I had a thought in the back of my head like, "What if it doesn't register?..".

I enjoyed "The Menace to Society" in Fable II -- "Commit an act of public indecency, or see another Hero commit one" -- which can be achieved by having the hero, clad only in underwear, pull off a perfect "vulgar thrust" expression in the village square. (You are then arrested and have to redeem yourself with a bout of public service. Or you can resist.)

I have mixed feelings about achievements. I love it when you play a game and you just know something is going to be one (getting all the swordfighting insults in Secret of Monkey Island, for instance), but I hate it when they're things you might never, ever think to do during gameplay, or have certain multiplayer requirements. Fable II has an achievement for sending an in-game gift to an XBox friend, but it doesn't seem possible to do when you and your friend are both playing on the same console.
