Since when did people complain about long cables?

The headset wasn't great but it's better than none at all. (The cord connected to the controller as well, so like the Wii's nunchuck, it's wireless, but it's not)

Anyways, the Pro DID come with HD cables. At the time it came with component and composite cables. HDMI wasn't added in till later. (Keep in mind, no PS3 came with any HD cables, and still don't to my knowledge)

When the 360 launched, all XBLA games had a size limit, 8gb was more than enough at the time. Patching wasn't really a thing, and neither was DLC. Though upgrading was a bit of a ripoff.

It should have came with wifi, however, basically any wireless bridge worked as well. It did come with an ethernet cable at least.

At the time of it's launch, the 360 came with just about everything needed. The PS3 and 360 have had a huge amount of features and services added, so while now it seems kind of insane it didn't come with a 120gb hard drive or HDMI, it wasn't really necessary when they were launched. The 360 has been out now about 7 years. In tech terms that's honestly pretty bonkers when you think about it.
The 360 did not come with everything needed for the true experience. Component was unacceptable for his enormous HDTV. I watched my friend spend hundreds of dollars piecing together a true 360 experience. In the edit to my post I also knocked the PS3 for not coming with an HDMI cable. That was probably not there when you replied.

I do not care whether people normally complain about cord length. The headset that came with the 360 had way too long of a cord for my tastes.

Back in 2005 my friend and I were not tech savvy enough to know about wifi bridging.

If you hate long cords, I'd love to see your reaction to an Atari 2600 AC adapter..

"In our test market, people are reporting that they have to sit too close to their TVs. What should we do"

"Hmmm... *looks at console* make the power adapter longer"

Isn't the AC adapter a good 12ft long or something like that? I know the controllers are only 3ft long or so.

My Elite 360 came with a 120GB HDD, HDMI cable, component AV cables (has the composite plug as well), audio-only adapter (in case you needed to mix HDMI video with optical or RCA audio), an ethernet cord, a headset, and of course a controller (plus the Forza/Marvel Ultimate Alliance bundle). I was actually quite impressed by the contents of the box at the time.

Other than play n' charge, there wasn't much that they could have added, though sure, it was the expensive model. Again, all I've ever bought for that system, accessory-wise, was a second controller.

The original 360s didn't support HDMI, and component can do 1080p just fine if you're not needing HDCP. At the time, HDTV hadn't caught on to nearly the level it has now. Doubly so for 1080p over 720p TVs.

The Wii never came with HD cables either, and if you happened to want ethernet, it needs an adapter for that.

I do understand the line of thinking, though to me, -most- consoles are highly proprietary. Accessories are typically very high margin items. What Sony did with the PS3 with HDD upgrades and the like is commendable, but it's also abnormal.

Probably for a good reason. ;)

Could have at least come with component. Honestly, it does annoy me that the PS3 and current 360 systems don't come with HDMI cables. They're cheap on Monoprice, yea. But again, they're CHEAP ON MONOPRICE. I'm sure that Sony and Microsoft could include them with their consoles for an extra 20 cent cost to them.

Still by Nintendo's philosophy, component too may have been too much for TV owners.
And for Sony & MS, 20 cents x a couple million still adds up - and that Sony can sell their brand HDMI cable in the store, that's some sweet margin for your regular shopper.
I guess Nintendo wants to make a point that they believe HDTV is out there and everyone has one, like good old red.white&yellow before, everyone gets an HDMI cord this time.
I'm still gonna be on component for the Wii U anyways as my HDCRT doesn't have HDMI.

I have said this before and I will say it again...

I wanted Wii to win this console war(I know it made most sales but you know what I mean) , but I was let down. i know there are people who are out there who prefer the kind of games provided by the Nintendo platform.

As for me, I am on the road that was set long ago in the videogames world. I am on the path that psx, dreamcast, Gamecube, ps2 and even SNES and genesis set. I am not after "wiggle your wiimote" or "Mario Olympics" or "Mario kart 3000e2" .
I also think we can all agree that xbox live and psn store is way much better than waiiware titles for the most part.

Then they release Wii-U , yea right i ain't gonna buy that.

And they compare its picture quality with ps3? Sorry Nintendo, your "new" console that is going to be released 2012(or 2013 no sure) has graphics quality of a 2005 360! yes 7 years ago that was the console graphics quality. I know ps3 graphics is plenty, heck I even enjoy ps2/gamecube graphics, but don't trick us on the hardware(unless its super super cheap)

Also I am not sure if this is a joke, or what but the Wii -u has 4 controllers!? The Tablet, the Wiimote, the nun-chuck, and the procontroller? HAHAHAHA

The reason I keep my Wii is because its small , plays GC games, almost all the 16bit and older games, and the few good Wii games (Mario Galaxy, Zelda) ... its the console that plays almost all consoles!

this is my opinion
