The one in December is the "Everything Bigger in TEXAS Fest". Upon A Burning Body, The WordAlive, Veil of Maya, The Acacia Strain, Crown the Embire, Abiotic, and more to be announced. Upon A Burning Body is good, and Veil of Maya are friends of friends in a metal band. (Currently, my friends are really pushing for a guitarist. I can help with electric triangle or doing some work/awesome crap around stage. I want to dress up like a crusader and fight demons. Don't think they'll go for the idea. )

how many of you live in texas? i'm trying to go to either fun fun fun or chaos in tejas next year.

GWAR is playing in Atlanta next month with DevilDriver, Cancer Bats, and Legacy of Disorder. Tickets are about $20, so I think I'll go. I wonder if they toned down their show after Beefcake's death, or if I will still get soaked in gore.

Sorry, I meant to reply to this one, but forgot.

I listened to the songs on Alestorm's FaceBook and liked them. Man I wish I would've remembered them when I was on my Power Metal kick a while ago.

I haven't played Skyrim and am not familiar with the soundtrack, but that's some good Power Metal.

cancer bats played with us in my basement once in 2009. it blows my mind that they are still a band and relatively popular.

Ya'll know any bands that do a more chant style of lyrics? Like, a battle chant, or a drinking song, or a football chant kind of sound. I can only think of one metal song like that off of my head.

I think that would be a great style to start if it isn't done already. I really feel like that is something everyone can get into. You don't have to sing good, and you don't need to be able to growl. Just keep up the beat. Sounds good to me...

Korpiklaani?

I've heard they do lots of drinking songs

Kvelertak has songs that would sound right at any metal party. Upbeat, high energy, head banging, mosh friendly stuff. I think they actually have a drinking song too. As for battle chants, shouldn't be hard to find a good power metal band that does stuff like that. Gravedigger, Blind Guardian, Dragon Force, etc.

Manowar also comes to mind, with stuff like Die for Metal

Iced Earth has lots of songs with rousing choruses or chants

Eluveitie has lots of battle songs on their Helvetios album

I was taking my in-store training at RadioShack yesterday and in one of the videos, there was a mention of Metallica.

RadioShack wrote:We check all of our in-house products for Heavy Metals such as: Lead, Beryllium, Mercury, and Metallica.
