Sword of Vermilion was one of the games I picked up in my Super Awesome Sega Thrift Store Find©. I haven't had time to play much of it, just enough to make sure it works. It doesn't look too bad considering it's probably one of the earlier RPGs for the system. It's also available on the PS2 and PSP Sega Genesis Collection if you want to test it out before going through the trouble of tracking down a cart.

I saw a video on YouTube for it today and I did a bit of research -- it doesn't look all that bad but there are a ton of commands like any early RPG may have. Graphics look good, battles are full-screen and for an AM2 game that was outside of their arcade hits at the time, I'd give it a try.

There's a reason Sword of Vermillion is so incredibly cheap. It sucks. It was nothing more than an experience in frustration for me. A lot of good ideas, but not one of them are executed well.

I'm a little disappointed in The House of the Dead: Overkill.

finally beat my first 3ds game, new super mario bros 2.

well, not exactly beat. still have to collect all those coins and complete some secret levels.

I did like the ending of the game. Bowser was pretty cool and the 3D effect of him was nice.

Have you tried Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles or Darkside Chronicles yet? Maybe you'll enjoy those a little more since you've just played through most of the Resident Evil games.

I haven't yet but they're on my list of games to get eventually.

Only thing about Overkill is the slowdown is kinda bad sometimes, and the Wii remote vibration/sound effects are kinda dinky and make it feel like you're not even really doing anything. haha Those few things just kinda kill it for me. :?

I thought Overkill was fun. But I'd take one of the classic HotD games over it any day.

I've been trying to get back into other genres lately but having a hard time, kind of weird. All I've really focused on or cared about for the past few years were RPGs. I've been trying to get back into FPS and sim games but I just can't seem to. I get bored quickly even though I want to be engaged and just wind up doing something else.

I'm having a really hard time skating vert ramps and bowls in the first Skate game. I'm supposed to push up on the left stick to pump, I know, but when? It seems to work best when I do it right before I hit the part of the ramp that actually curves up. But sometimes even that doesn't help. And I'm not supposed to ollie right? That just seems to make me go over the top of the bowl or stall on the lip. Does anyone know how to do this correctly?

Not really a thought, but here are a couple of pics I took today around town in San Francisco.

Old school cabs in, of all places, a Burger King.

This was a rather random thing in the window of one of those touristy shops in Chinatown.
