RetroVisions Nerd Rooms- Video Games- UPDATED 1/17/13

Post by RetroVision »

Hello, I am new to the site and love seeings everyone's collections. Here is a sample of mine.

*EDIT*
I realized when I added updated photos I was doing it wrong. I went back and decide to edit the post instead so you didn't have to search randomly though the thread to see new updated photos.

This is most of my retro stuff...still have things hooked up at home like PS3, PS2, Wii U, Wii, SNES 1, NES, XBOX, XBOX 360. Also have all the games for the newer systems stored at home. These photos are of my office at work, when I want to play these systems I simply bring them home or I play in my office. I live in a small condo so I had to move most of this stuff to work.

I was already impressed and then I saw that Sega kiosk. That thing is crazy awesome! Is there a good story behind how you got it?

All that's in an office? What do you do, home business or something?

Thanks guys! The Sega Kiosk is an interesting story, found it at a garage sale last week, it is my newest addition, cant find much info on it. It has a Sega DS-16 Switcher in it, to play 6 games. It was apparently in a doctors office and I assume it was at a game store before that. I have read from some that it is a prototype, but no one can confirm...looking for more info on it. Had to clean it up and install all new lights, the whole things lights up and it looks pretty sweet.

I work for a company in the Media and Entertainment industry, we build production, visual effects and broadcast facilities. I had most of my collection at home, but my wife said it had to go. We had extra offices at work, so I claimed one of the rooms for the toys and the video game stuff is in my actual office. Many people don't understand and think I am a total weirdo! I still have most of my newer systems at home hooked up to the main TV...PS3, PS2, Wii, XBOX 360...mostly only old stuff at my office.

If anyone has any info on the Sega Kiosk please let me know.

Thanks!

Generally if you work at companies founded by nerds you can get away with a lot. My office at MS is plastered with video game posters and another guy printed off Super Mario Bros 1-1 to hang on one of the hallways.

The only thing I saw missing in the first room is TV(s). Is it just for show or are you gaming during breaks?

Good question. :) One of the last pics before the toy room photos shows my Super Man TV...I have SNES and Atari hooked up to it. I play Genesis on the kiosk because i can swap out the games in the 6x1 switcher. We also built a MAME cabinet from scratch, which is in a different room, I rarely play that because I just don't think it is the same, building it wasnt my idea...another guy here. I also take games home almost every night so I can play them at home. But yes I love to play all of them, not just for show!

Here is the MAME...
