With everything that is packaged with the Deluxe, $350 seems reasonable as a launch price. Economically-speaking.

From what I've seen 720p is the most common resolution on a Wii U game.

Edit: here - http://wiiudaily.com/2012/06/wii-u-games-run-in-720p/
Well, that kills a lot of my interest right there. I was hoping for at least a minor upgrade. It really isn't difficult to produce hardware that will run all current stuff in 1080p.

That new controller be damned!

Sounds a bit graphic whorish but for $350 they really aren't making it easy for me to make an excuse to buy it. Lego City isn't enough.
That controller is the part that "feels" cheap. The screen looks like shit compared to almost any tablet I've handled in the last 2 years, it is not multitouch (really?!), and it isn't really an interesting way to interact with most of the games I've played. It seems like an afterthought for designers, including in most first party titles (with the possible exception of the Wario and Nintendoland games). Like with the Wii, the main appeal to me in the Wii U will be in playing exclusive games that are compelling with standard controls. I haven't seen many of those at this point, and the price isn't low enough to make me "hope they're coming" and pony up on launch...

So the difference is color, bigger internal memory, and comes with Nintendoland as a pack in?

Also comes with a charging cradle for the Gamepad, and stands for the console and the Gamepad.

It's published by Nintendo, so it's pretty safe to say it will be exclusive indefinitely.

I'll see how the library pans out. I'm sure i'll get one eventually, because deep deep down, i'm still a Nintendo kid at heart. I'll probably bite for the next Zelda or something.

I'm guessing this is going to turn out exactly like Wii did. Tons of shovelware, rejected by the 'hardcore' community, but plenty of cool unique exclusives that make it worth owning for folks like us.

I mean look, it's already getting slightly enhanced last gen ports.

^I so wish that this was one of the quotes on the back of the box.

Nintendo published it? I guess I missed that part.
