Anyway awesome. Chaos Field rules. And strangely, I was thinking about it last night.

I own the Japanese version of the collection because (at the time) it was like ten dollars cheaper than a US copy.

The Japanese version requires you to unlock both Radirgy and Chaos Field by playing Karous.

The Chaos Field screen says:

Game Start
"Myarenzu" Mode? (This one is weird, to my knowledge, there's improper usage of yōon characters, making it hard to make out what it's trying to say. I can't really say whether or not this, or "game start" (the first option), is arcade mode. I haven't played this game for years and can't remember.)

The Soukyugurentai screen says:

I'm sure this is completely irrelevant at this point, but second option is 'Challenge Mode.'
Also, the first option for Soukyugurentai is 'settings' (/options). Which is really weird. I don't think I've ever seen 'options' at the top above 'start,' etc.

I'll probably get into this game a little in the future. It's basically a boss rushing shmup, no? I'll probably be working on Zero Gunner 2 first, though.

Glad to see the love for this game. I am working on getting a copy of the Naomi version soon and I will post my scores when it arrives.

Any way, I have played this quite a bit on the Wii and love it. But now my Wii is just a Net
Flix machine.

Just my Naomi copy in today. 9-8. I forgot just how hard this game is. I am digging it again but it is going to take some practice.

Wow does that second stage really stick it to you. Not unmanageable, but definitely a giant leap from the first stage.
I don't really know if I'm doing it right, but it seems like the object is to collect all the red tokens until the gauges are full, and then just sit back and collect the yellow ones for points/kill the thing as fast as possible for time-bonus points.
I think I can still see the horizon, though. So I'll take another stab at Phase 2 sometime later.
