Mickey's Magical Quest - how awesome is this game!?
Hey all, had a day off today and was delving into my SNES collection when I started to play Magical Quest - and wow, I forgot just how good this game really was. It REALLY feels like a precursor to Donkey Kong Country, especially with the swimming stages. The stages are quite fun to play around in, and although the common enemies are a bit on the boring side, the bosses are really fun/entertaining and the levels are challenging. Switching Mickey's costumes for different magic powers is also a neat idea, though I haven't gotten far enough in to see most of them. Best of all, in my opinion, is just how fun the game feels - I really like the design and artwork of the game. Does anyone know if the MQ 2 and MQ3 are as good as the original? If so, I'll definitely have to start checking out for them!

MQ3 only came out in Japan. Both sequels are really fun.

I also really enjoyed this game and detailed my experience here:

I really enjoyed this game. I likened it to the Little Nemo NES game, with its changing of outfits, short game length, and sharp difficulty.
I'm still on the lookout for the second game in the series. From what I have seen, it is extremely similar to the first, which is a good thing.

I remember this being one of the few games I actually would go back and rent multiple times as a kid.
Ahh the days of going to a local rental store and seeing all those SNES boxes on the wall..
