I'm enjoying the game a lot, even if it's a little frustrating in the difficulty department. I can't seem to get my timing down for some of the jumps, and died about fifty times attempting to get the helmet in Secret Tunnel 15-18. Now I'm stuck on the boss in Area 07. Still though, it's nice to have a game that's not a complete pushover. BC: Rearmed remains pretty faithful to the original, and brings back some memories.

Bionic Commando: Rearmed Discussion
Just figured I'd open a topic for discussion regarding the game.

not really. Ive been doing just fine with the analog stick. However, if you have the choice, get the psn for the remote play.DuncanIsaac wrote:You have to get the PSN version. Just to get a good D-pad. Bionic Commando MUST be played with a D-pad.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

A little extreme, don't you think? Yes, the 360 pad sucks, but some people still like it better than the PS3 pad (me). Anyway, I use a stick (of course).DuncanIsaac wrote:You have to get the PSN version. Just to get a good D-pad. Bionic Commando MUST be played with a D-pad.
For the game, I am surprised how much I am enjoying it. I have zero nostalgia for the NES version because I never played it, and the arcade version never really grabbed me. I say I am surprised because I thought a game with a map and different kinds of levels and some top-down stuff thrown in would put me off. But, it hasn't.
There's also a ton of content with all the challenge rooms and the "database" to read through (I don't know why I like the database). I like how most of the new equipment you pick up (not the weapons) just gets used automatically and doesn't interfere with grappling and shooting.
I also think the two-player game is great. It isn't just a throw away addition; it works very well and I'm playing it through with a friend.
The bosses bother me at first because I don't like thinking about things. Even after reading the "hacked" information, I had to die several times at the tank because I didn't know where or what to do. Actually, all of the bosses so far except one have been a little annoying. But, after figuring out what to do and replaying the level, they are fun.

Some of you know where I stand on this issue: One of the best games ever.
The 360 version is just fine with the analog stick. If and when I get the PS3 and this game for that, I would use the digital pad as I am used to Sony's dpad.
Through research I have learned that the PS3 version may not contain the graphical 'tearing' that is present in the 360 version. Some people cannot see the problem, which is great. I can, and once you do, you cannot un-see it. Certainly not game ruining as I initially thought it would be, but pretty unacceptable IMO. Anyway, I'm done mentioning that glitch. The game is awesome.
10th place all-time on challenge rooms.

Re: Bionic Commando: Rearmed Discussion
I got through it within a day on Normal...but Super Hard(which you unlock after beating the game once) is truly a challenge. I'm struggling to beat Level 1! Enemies fire constantly, even diagonally up, and drop grenades on you from above...Flak Beard wrote:I'm enjoying the game a lot, even if it's a little frustrating in the difficulty department. I said XBLA, but by that, I mean the trial version, cuz I don't have the means of buying stuff on XBL (no credit card OR prepaid cards). But it's definitely gonna be one of those XBLA games that I'm actually gonna buy instead of just playing the trial version.
They should port it to the PSP and possibly the DS. I have both, but I'd prefer to play it on the former.
