Now that's dark.
Nope. no. no. Walt Jr has to kill zombified Hank. That's super dark.
BTW, don't forget, we still need to get to this point

I re-watched that opening scene trying to pick up hints...

Oh I just re-remembered one hint in that scene... I the bathroom, he was coughing hard and popping his pills. So the cancer more than likely is back. And, while this was fairly obvious from that scene, with the Hank situation and Skyler situation progressing, he has seemed to left his family completely.

Watching that excellent new series edit video that has been circulating, it is interesting to see how Walt started this whole thing for his family, but ended up leaving them all. Granted, he probably left at least the kids a great deal of money behind, but i can't get over how fascinating this show is on so many levels.

Sorry for all the posts... Just read this great piece

How The Mid-Season Finale Of 'Breaking Bad' Brings Us Full Circle

And as a final note, it was pointed out to me recently that Walt often takes on a memento of some sort from his victims or from those people whose deaths Walt was responsible for. After Mike’s death, Walt is shown drinking drinks “on the rocks” like Mike.

After Krazy 8 is killed by Walt in season one, Walt begins cutting the crusts off of his sandwiches, just like Tuco did. And in the opening to Season 5, we see Walt arrange his bacon into the numbers 52, just like Skyler does for Walt on his other birthdays.

Nothing is an accident at this point, and the bacon features in each of Walt’s birthdays, and is never, oddly enough, a good thing. At his 50th birthday the bacon is tasteless “healthy” bacon. At his 51st, Skyler only grudgingly arranges it given her and Walt’s marital tensions. And at his 52nd? Does he arrange it himself simply because Skyler isn’t with him, or is their some darker foreshadowing at play?
Ah!

This series seems quite interesting, would it be worth it to track down a DVD for season 1?

All 4 previous seasons are streamable on Netflix, if you have it. But otherwise - yes.

I think it's the best-made show on TV right now (and possibly of all time), so I would strongly suggest it.
