Good games to play with the wife?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Don't know about 360 titles but as I type my wife is playing Rythm Tengoku Gold on DS right now and we frequently have Wii Sports going on in the living room~

What'd I tell ya'? They love their beat 'em ups, see.

I think there's some truth to that. My wife loves playing Die Hard Arcade and Dynamite Cop. Although that's partly just b/c of the incredibly ridiculous and funny voices, characters, etc.

Heh, my girlfriend is actually a huge fan of Battletoads. Plus, while talking to her last night, I discovered she loves the Ecco the Dolphin series. Not multiplayer to my knowledge, but maybe you could get her more interested in single player games with it?

I play tons of games with my fiance. We find it funny to see how bad one of is compared to the other in certain games, and the other way around in other games.

Right now, these are the games we've been playing:

Sega Saturn - Bomberman [She absolutely loves this game]
SNES - Super Mario World and Mario Kart
PS2 - All of the Katamari games
PS3 - Soul Calibur 4, Devil May Cry 4 [we take turns]
3DO - Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Myst
MAME - X-Men [4 Player one]
Dreamcast - Marvel Vs. Capcom 2

Fighting games are always tricky. Find ones that are easy to play and that you dont mind "losing" a few times. Unless of course she is better than you, like is my case with Soul Calibur and MvC2.
I'm back!

If you try the DC / PS2 Ecco, keep in mind that it is VERY HARD (and often frustrating). But it is a very nice looking game. The controls and other stuff are a bit flawed, but I really liked the game nonetheless. And it's cool to play the couple of 2D "secret" levels :)

Strip monopoly works too.

The keyword though for playing with a significant other is .. Co-Op! Everything else can potentially be problematic.

I recommend Mario Party Series, Bust-A-Move series, and games that allow 2 player co-op liek beat'em ups and shmups. You can always do the "But I need you to HELP ME!"

^.^

If you can get her to try an RPG...
Tales of the Abyss allows the 2nd played to control another character during battle. Super fun battle system similar to a 3d beat 'em up. Plus it's got a great story.

Secret of Mana is also great with 2 people. The computers' AI is ofter frustration and stands in front of enemy projectiles for no aparent reason. They also get stuck on walls, bushes, signs, etc. and you have to circle back for them all the time. I find myself saying oh just die already, unless someone else controls them.

If anyone has a Wii, Trauma Center: New Blood is a blast for my wife and I.
