been fiddling with both my psp and 3dsxl online, since I dont have my computer right now.
I know most of us use our phones to do other web stuff when our computers aren't available. (some of us only use the phone).
Have any of you used your portable's web browser? If you had to use one which one would it be?
Have you tried all of them? I've only used the two i've said. Is the web browser any better on the vita? How was it with the web/game cart for the first DS?
by the way I'm using the stylus right now on th 3ds to type this post.
soooo.......
which portables' web browser do you prefer using [if there was no other option]?

Re: Handheld console gaming: which net browser sucks less?
I can only speak for the PSP, as that's all I have.
It's not bad, but I do think it's a pain in the ass if you want to type out more than a line or two of text. If you just want to read or browse, it's fine, but I wouldn't use it for writing a response here on Racketboy. It'd probably drive me insane.

Re: Handheld console gaming: which net browser sucks less?
I found the 3ds browser terrible, when you scrolled a page it all went blank with those little squares. Very slow also, even on my fast home connection. I heard that the DS browser was practically unusable.
On a related note, I used to have to browse the internet with my Dreamcast before I had my own computer lol, but with the keyboard attachment it was a pretty decent web browsing experience.

The 3DS had a rotten browser, but the vita's is pretty good.
Sega Genesis (Model 2), Sega CD, Sega 32X, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Game Boy Family, Phillips CD-i Model 910, NES, Atari 5200, Virtual Boy, Atari Jaguar, Playstations 3-4

Out of them all, I'd go with the Vita browser -- it's actually not horrible to use at all. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. Dealing with the internet on the 3DS screen is painful.
Re: Handheld console gaming: which net browser sucks less?
I find the 3DS internet to be better than the PSP's, but it's still pretty terrible, compared to today's smart phones and tablets.
The original DS's internet browser was incomparably awful. But it sure makes a nice novelty item.

I don't have any sony handhelds but I know both he DSi and the 3DS' browser sucks. Slow, incompatible with too many websites, bad typing, and doesn't really comply with the whole mobile site thing.

Out of all the ones I've tried, Vita wins. Its browser is on par with a smartphone's browser.

Re: Handheld console gaming: which net browser sucks less?
I haven't found a single competent web browser on a handheld game system. The Vita comes the closest to being tolerable, but it's still not even in the same league as a smartphone browser.

I'll speak for the PSP browser, which I've had to use while on vacation. It runs basic mobile sites well like m.gmail.com or m.facebook.com but it's intolerable for anything else. It can be improved with homebrew patches, but not by much. You could also try running a Java browser like Opera Mini on it, but I haven't bothered with that.
