Good call. It had a darker tone to it than the other 2 Aladdin movies, too. Which I liked. (Still not better than the original, though.)MrPopo wrote:I thought Aladdin 2 was pretty good.AppleQueso wrote:Are there any straight-to-video sequels that are actually genuinely good?

To be fair, Bloodlines, II and the original are the only ones worth watching. Don't even get me started on the absolutely retarded one with the chubby Pinhead.dreamcast4ever83 wrote:
Just stop while your head on this one. After bloodlines which was ok at best they had some dumb online hellraiser movie lol.
Why is it with everytime they run out of ideas for a series it always leads to the internet and space.
leprechaun in sapce
Critters in space
jason in space (this one was actually good!) Well better then 5,6,7,8, jason goes to hell
Zathura (Jumanji 2 in space)
hellraiser in space huh? I guess the gates of hell are not limited to earth and it would be freaky if that happened on a ship.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Hilarious that you mentioned Mulan 2. I haven't actually seen it but I took a screenwriting class taught by the guy who wrote it, and had it listed on his credentials. I thought, "Will I actually learn anything from the guy who wrote Mulan 2?".KillerJuan77 wrote:I like the Hellraiser movie that takes place in space and there's a pretty decent Puppet Master sequel (That's actually better than any film in the series) but I can't remember which one it was.AppleQueso wrote:I usually draw the line at straight-to-video stuff. Seeing a franchise you like reduced to an embarassing no-budget slopfest (which pretty much all straight-to-video sequels are) is never fun.

Mulan II is pretty decent too.
He was actually pretty good though and it's interesting to hear that it was actually good.

JASON X, good? Nonsense.
Better than 7? That's just ludicrous.
Okay, I'll give you that the frozen face smash in Jason X was hilarious, but the rest of the movie looks like a straight to ScFy movie with awful effects, a paper thin plot, and Jason getting a super hero suit? And the dialogue...Ugh. It reads as if Pauly Shore wrote it. It's so terrible on so many levels.
It's no masterpiece, but VII was pretty bad ass for its time. Yes, same premise: Sex crazed kids killed by disfigured sociopath in dark places. But VII does that much much better than X. You at least connect with some of the characters in VII instead of just wishing they would die already, and a cute chick that can use the force is a teenage boys dream. Has a great build up with a great payoff with the unmasking of Jason, which in VII has the best make up design in any of the Friday the 13th movie installments.
VII feels more like a real attempt at making a decent movie. X feels like a movie that tried to create a camp Jason movie, but camp just happens, you can never create it. And when you try to create camp, you fail, as Jason X did.

The good news is that they all probably give the best performance of their careers. But that doesn't save a movie that could have been much funnier than it is. Cheap gags and old jokes kind of ruined this movie for me, not to say it isn't funny at times, but when you've heard one cocaine binge joke you've heard them all. And there's too much cocaine binging in this.
It will probably be a hit with Sorority girls, and that's about it.

Jason X is the only Jason movie I've ever seen. I've never been big on horror movies, so Ive never seen any Jason, Freddy, or Halloween type movies. I have seen Evil Dead 2 though.Luke wrote:

Anyway, I thought Jason X was HIGH-LARRY-US. We watched it for a Bad Movie Night and it was scrumptious. The face smash, the nano bots, everything was perfect for a bad movie!
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I feel there were too little awful-awesome moments to consider X as a bad movie worth watching. But yeah, the three or four times when it delivers it is pretty hilarious.indecks wrote: Anyway, I thought Jason X was HIGH-LARRY-US. We watched it for a Bad Movie Night and it was scrumptious. Good on you for having "Bad Movie Night(s)". Some of the best parties I've thrown have been bad movie based and themed.

I really enjoyed it and I think after 1-4 the last one with correy Feldman it just went to shit although if day 8 was the worse joke I have ever seen and Freddy vs Jason was just dumb and pointless 20 years and that's the crap we get? No spank you

One cool thing we did see in Jason X though, was the Freddy vs. Jason teaser. Too bad it took a decade to come out.Luke wrote:dreamcast4ever83 wrote:

I love the part in X where they trick him into thinking he's back Crystal Lake. Y'know... the ol' sleeping bag gag?
