I have never bought a new release in my life. thats one of the reasons i like retro gaming so much. i rarely spend over twenty dollars on a game and usually it is ten or less. New games go for what $60-70 i couldnt imagine spending that kind of money on a game, especially when you cant be for certain how good it is. which is another reason i like retro gaming. the good games have already been established, so you dont have to spend money on crap that you might not like.
i'm just curious how much you have spent on a game. new games are expensive and some games consistently go over $100 on ebay (suikoden II, panzer dragoon saga, etc.) I think the most i have spent on a game is around $40 for a complete mint arc the lad collection for the ps1. i paid in the thirties for a couple games. but i couldnt imagine spending new game prices, and i will probably never own suikoden II unless i find it at a flea market or something, which sucks cause i have every other suikoden game.
Whats the most you have paid for a game?

Rock band was close to 200 (bit more after I modded it.) I don't believe I've surpassed 200 for a game but I have spent close to that amount quite often my record for a piece of gaming goodness was 400+ for my 360. Unless you can't computers in which case I tend to spend 2500 on new machines for PC gaming. I imagine my wish to get into arcade games will set me back a bit as well

20 bucks for final fantasy 7 greatest hits brand new when it first went on greatest hits
well I've actually payed upwards to 50 bucks for some brand new pc games but ended up taking them back because my pc was too shitty to run them, I remember my parents putting various snes games on lay away but I've never payed over 50 for anything.
