I was just curious to ask what you guys think. It's easy to tell the better one's but what's the die hard just ugly uninspired game? I have heard many thing so im curious what you guys think? The thing is this question can be overwhelming due to the fact there was a ton of tomb raider game's and alot of them you may not have even played or heard of unless you were a not only hardcore fan but also forgiving.
I have the playstations one's dreamcast, ps2 ect... I left out the gameboy tomb raiders which were quite fun actually.
Some say lara croft over the year's has been over exposed and worn out it's welcome. What is your least liked.

Worst Tomb Raider game Poll?

Re: Worst Tomb raider game Poll?
I tried to play the Saturn version the other day (after a decade of it setting around close to the end of the game) then threw in the third one for PlayStation. I just can't stand how dated they look. I though I would be able to get past it. Maybe I just need to try again.
Aside from those, I have the forth one on Dreamcast, it looks nice, but I need to sit down and really give it a go. I have also beat Legend on the Gamecube a while back (and loved it).
I really enjoy the action adventure style of the Tomb Raider games. I love having to work out all the puzzles.
I have been meaning to pick up Anniversary, and some of the others. Man I forget just how many of these games there were.

As someone who has played and beaten (with this one exception) every Tomb Raider game near it's release, I say that Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness was the worst Tomb Raider game I've played. It tried to be edgy and failed. It was horribly glitchy and broken. It got away from a lot of what made the games popular, IMO. Terrible.

I played (some of) the original on the Saturn a while back. I was pretty into it until I got stuck at one part, then kinda gave up and ended up getting rid of it. The graphics definitely took some getting used to, but even then they were pretty terrible. I'm not even picky about graphics, but when it's at a point where you can hardly tell what's wall and what's water, there's a problem. hahabryan_65 wrote:I tried to play the Saturn version the other day (after a decade of it setting around close to the end of the game) then threw in the third one for PlayStation. I don't imagine it being a huge improvement (if any at all) but how is the PS1 version in comparison? Just curious.
P.S- the first one is the only one I've ever really played so I'm not really contributing anything to this thread. Sorry about that...

There are good Tomb Raider games?
Not trolling, I've played about 4 or 5 of them (not sure why I didn't learn my lesson after the first one), and found all of them to be less than average.

Angel of Darkness was the only Tomb Raider game that I haven't liked that I can recall.

Seems to me you probably just don't like these types of games, ones where the objective is more about the traversal of the environment than the gun combat against enemies. There are certainly some great games in this series if you like environmental puzzles and has really taken off IMO since Crystal Dynamics took over the franchise.brunoafh wrote:There are good Tomb Raider games?

I think the problem with the earlier ones was that the controls REALLY were bad. Just those let them down very much. Only the first one was designed around the limitations of its control schemes. The sequels cared more about cinematic moments which made the gameplay much more of a pain.Stark wrote:Seems to me you probably just don't like these types of games, ones where the objective is more about the traversal of the environment than the gun combat against enemies. This!!!! I got The Last Revelation in a DC lot on eBay a few years back with some sports titles and the *first* level was too difficult for me. Then I played Legend on the PC, the first one that CD developed, and I thought THAT is how a Tomb Raider game should be made. Freaking amazing and not difficult.Stark wrote:has really taken off IMO since Crystal Dynamics took over the franchise.
