Random Gaming Thoughts
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Spoiler alert for a 15 year old game: Cait Sith's death actually bothered me more but then they messed up the entire thing by resurrecting him literally 30 seconds after he died.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

That was a pretty horrifying way to kill someone though. I mean he let himself stay in a giant temple that completely shrunk down, crushing him into tiny bits.Flake wrote:Spoiler alert for a 15 year old game: Cait Sith's death actually bothered me more but then they messed up the entire thing by resurrecting him literally 30 seconds after he died.
What was up with the "Don't forget about me when another Cait Sith comes along!" thing? I mean it's just Reeve controlling a dummy/doll thing, so uh... yeah. Did he just get too into it or something?

They so ruined that moment for me. It was the only scene that actually moved me and then they go and strike all the wrong notes immediately afterwards.Flake wrote:Spoiler alert for a 15 year old game: Cait Sith's death actually bothered me more but then they messed up the entire thing by resurrecting him literally 30 seconds after he died.

I got that one already. I've got to go SOMEWHERE ELSE. T_Talienjesus wrote: I reckon I can probably guess what key you're missing, it's the one most people miss.
Of course, I could be wrong, you might be stumped at a completely different point.
I'll do it. I can do this. I can beat video games!
The Water Temple isn't hard as much as it is completely tedious to be in; I'm constantly going through the same room, pausing to change boots, floating up, floating down, changing the water level to re-explore the hallways I've already been down.
The crowning moment of frustration was when I finally got a small key, opened the only door I knew I could get to... and found that I needed another key.

In that case you're going to have that common Zelda moment where when you finally do find the key you're missing, It's going to be in a really obvious spot and you're going to feel really stupid for having missed it.

I'm surprised people actually liked Cait Sith. I hated that guy, and never EVER put him into my party because of it, even if it would be to my advantage.BoringSupreez wrote:They so ruined that moment for me. Cait Sith was one of my favorite characters. I think I mostly liked how creative the character was, both in design and how he played. Added some flair to the cast. Classic theme song too.lisalover1 wrote:I'm surprised people actually liked Cait Sith. I hated that guy, and never EVER put him into my party because of it, even if it would be to my advantage.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I guess I liked Cait Sith, but he was pretty undeveloped by RPG standards and I don't think of him as being a core character at all. But IMO the levity he added to the game kept the tone fun.
(If anyone's curious my problem with the Water Temple was my not knowing how to light torches as an adult. PROBLEM SOLVED.)

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I really don't remember this part of the game... Then again if they did resurrect him 30 seconds later, I can't see how that would be particularly significant. It's almost like, "no dudes, I wasn't in there when it exploded" type of scene from a movie...Flake wrote:Spoiler alert for a 15 year old game: Cait Sith's death actually bothered me more but then they messed up the entire thing by resurrecting him literally 30 seconds after he died.
