The problem with a projector is that you need the room to be dark. So in the day time, you would have to pull down the shades.AppleQueso wrote: Personally, if I ever find myself in a position where I need a screen that big (or bigger!), i'll probably just invest in a nice projector.
I could see myself using a projector for the basement man cave that I have yet to start. Maybe in 1-2 years?

Not a problem for me, I have the windows in many of the rooms in the house blacked out anyway because I need to sleep during the daytime.gtmtnbiker wrote:The problem with a projector is that you need the room to be dark. Probably wouldn't surprise you to learn that his art served as a pretty big inspiration for the art direction in the Silent Hill games.Gooseberrysoda wrote:Francis Bacon made some really scary art, man. Surrealist whatever.

The projector uses HQV video processing, so the scaling of DVD and SDTV content to the projector’s resolution, and the progressive scan conversion, were performed very well.

The quoting was a little weird... Is that from your experience or a site's review?elmagicochrisg wrote:I know... ^^D.D.D. wrote:Wow~ Pretty.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I lucked out with my projector and home theater. The third floor is in two distinct sections, game room and theater. Not a window in the theater, and it is also "doored" off. Pitch black until you hear the beep of the projector and its fan. Its no Imax, and I don't know the resolution on DLP, but it's huge, looks great, and with an additional sound system it is LOUD.
One day I'll spiffy the theater up, but for now, a projector, dolby digital sound system, and chairs makes me happy enough. Actually watched Ferris Bueller last night in the home theater.

Ever had someone over that couldn't watch the projector because of the rainbow effect?...Luke wrote:DLP
I've read that some people are sensitive to that, others hardly notice it.
So that's why I avoid DLP in my quest for a new one...
No way to test this myself, as projectors are not that popular here...
