Looks like I'll have to break out Super Mario All-Stars to play SMB2. Oh this game takes me waaaay back - I'm thinking about as far back as Kindergarten (the '89-'90 school year). Once in a while, my mom's friend would pick me up from school, and I would play Nintendo until my mom picked me up at her house. Well, sometimes SMB2 would be there, sometimes it wouldn't. All I remember from back then is referring to the Tweeter Birds as "Turds".

Actually now that I think about it, I've never played the game all the way through, because the one time that I did beat it I luckily stumbled upon one of the warps, and if it weren't for that there's no telling if I would've made it. haha

I wasn't a fan of the emulation in the Wii Super Mario All-Stars - the whole game felt like you were on ice with the controls.

I'll try this one through the NES again. I have never beat it and don't remember how far we ever got (played at my buddy's house).

:?: AFAIK, the Wii version is a direct port of All-Stars on SNES.

Also, sat down tonight and beat the game legit. Probably gonna start through SMB 3 again for fun.

To me, the NES version had the smoothest controls, but terrible sound effects. Been playing the GBA version, though very different, is freakin' awesome. Other than the "voice acting." ;)

Just finished Mario Zone. Now I am braving Pumpkin Zone. Soon I'll have all six of the Golden Coins.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
