Favorite Arcade roms

Post by nateup2 »

What are some of everybody's favorite arcade roms to emulate? I mainly use Winkawaks because the CPS1,2, and Neo Geo games are some of my favs. I don't really need any suggestions for fighting games, since I am pretty well set in that department.

I would like to get into Mame, but not sure which version to use. (no command lining) I had messed around with Mame32 some but all the games I tried ran like garbage. What 90s games would you suggest that run as close to perfect as it gets?

Here is what I have been playing the most of lately:

-League Bowling (so addicting for me)
-The Punisher
-AVP
-Knights of the Round
-Loop Master 19--whatever it is for cps2 (GREAT MUSIC!)
-Samurai Shodown
-Willow
-Capcom Sports Club
-Magic Sword

Thanks

Well you named my favorite when you listed Aliens vs. Predator. In the meantime, Metal Slug is always good, but that's Neo Geo emulation...

I play AVP at least every couple of weeks. I love that game so much. Of course all the Capcom and SNK fighters, as well as a few from other companies. Raiden/II/Fighters/Fighters II/Fighters Jet.... soooooooo awesome as shmups.

The arcade roms I like the most are ones that never got a console release, so that would be Osman, Red Earth, and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.

I like some of the old vector games. Like Gravitar and Battlezone. The latter is especially nice with a dual thumbstick controller, one for each tank tread.

thanks everyone!

I love Cadilacs and Dinosaurs... jsut forgot to mention that one. Same with Metal Slug series, although I have a hard time finding ones with red blood. Are some of them in white blood no matter what region or console/mvs you assign?

I will be checking out the ones I am not familiar with... especially ones not ported to consoles!

Oh wow, I used to have a MAME emulator, like 5 years ago.

I never got it working very well though.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.
