Huh. Well then, I suppose it could have been the mangos, though I haven't had any this week since none of them are ripe yet. But the doctor seemed pretty set on contact dermatitis. I'd think he would have asked me if he thought it was food related.harper wrote:What's crazy is you can be allergic to something without even knowing it or having any kind of reaction and then suddenly, one day you break out in hives because of it. I thought for the longest time that I wasn't allergic to poison ivy and when I was like 19 I had a very serious case of it. It was so bad that I can't believe my arm didn't fall off or at least scar really badly from it. Luckily that steroid cream that doctors give you works fuckin' miracles.
And the prednisone does, in fact, work fabulously (he gave me the pill form though, not the cream). Those nasty blisters on my eyelids have been reduced to the size of pinpricks, and I've only been on it for half a day. Yay drugs
No, nothing I haven't been using for months. My skin is pretty sensitive to that sort of stuff too, so I'd hope I would have had some sort of reaction to something before nowcookie monster wrote:Have you used any new face cleaners or cleaning products?
BTW, these anit-itch pills he gave me are freaking insane. It says on the bottle, "May cause drowsiness or dizziness," and damn, they weren't kidding. I've been slipping in and out of consciousness for the better part of the day. I know I said I didn't get much sleep last night, but holy hell. The bottle says 1-3 pills every 6-8 hours as needed, and I've been taking 2. I think I'm going to have to cut back the dosage tomorrow or I'll end up walking around like a zombie

Wow, I'm on the same stuff. I had a rash on the back of my right hand for about a month. I thought it might be from poison ivy but who knows. I finally saw the doctor, actually a nurse practitioner (CVS minute clinic) who prescribed the stuff. I really enjoyed talking to the nurse about the issue and felt that I got my money's worth ($79). I think my regular doctor would charge somewhere around $180. I went to the clinic so I could pay cash and reduce the balance in my FSA (pre-tax flexible spending account) because it's use it or lose it by the end of the year.Michi wrote: But the doctor seemed pretty set on contact dermatitis. Anyway, the pills worked great. Within a few hours of the first dosage, I could feel relief. The pills do have a nasty taste so I find myself trying to swallow them down quickly with water. They're tiny pills and the routine is something like 6 for 4 days, 5 for 2 days, 4 for 2 days, etc. 1 more week to go!

People think that being social means talking a being friends with everyone around you. (a.k.a. Facebook) =D It's overrated. I have only a few friends I'm still in contact with. I had a Facebook account, but recently closed it. You ARE being social. You have friends and I'm sure you must have some family. (If not, sorry.) If I'm in public, I don't feel the need to stop someone just to bullshit. (Unless it was a cute girl, I was single, and wanted some sex.) =D As long as you are happy with life, your doing good. Just do what makes you happy. Fuck society.Forlorn Drifter wrote:@Ryan
Last part was a joke. I always get told I'm not social enough, I should talk to more people in public, I can't be afraid of girls in public. (Why the hell does everybody think its okay to go up and talk to people in public?)
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
So I went to Goodwill today and inside their little display case were 6 boxed Intellivision games. Someone taped them all together and wrote "Atari games $12" on the tape. haha

Damn this new CRT TV/monitor of mine is going to screw everything up! Little 13" punk just has to have a picture that blows my 35" CRT out of the water, huh? And I was happy with how that 35" looked until now!
I'm gonna have to completely rethink my whole game room arrangement to make use of this smaller, much better looking screen.

So apparently Sony's getting ready to roll out a consumer level 4K tv. Remember when I complained that it'd be useless if it was smaller than 60" or so? Well that's not a problem apparently, because this TV is a whopping 84". It actually sounds kinda nice, but I honestly just don't want to have to buy my movies again so they'll be in 4K.

Who needs an 84" TV? I'm currently looking at a 36" CRT, though I wish I could get a 52" LED. But 84 fucking inches? Could you imagine watching porn? You could see down the DUDE's asshole, then. I... I don't think I want that. O_O Of course, if you live in a mansion, then I guess it would be different because you'd be sitting pretty far from the TV. =P

Yeah my thought when I read 84" was "Well geez might as well just replace your WALL if you're getting it that big."rlrunyon wrote:Who needs an 84" TV? There's gotta be a point where they just can't make it any bigger. It's not a case of it being possible, it's a case of people being able to fit these things through the front door of their house.

I wish I could do this to my CRT...ABC News wrote:Don’t you just hate not being able to see your TV from half a mile away? Don’t worry. Sharp has your back.
The company has just released what is said to be the world’s largest LED flat screen television. It is four feet tall and 6 feet 8 inches long, with a 90-inch screen measured diagonally. The television, named the Sharp Aquos LC-90LE745U, is as long as NBA star Lebron James is tall.
