Being my flea market doesn't have a lot of imports, this was really surprising. I went into the video game store in the indoor portion of flea market and saw a bunch of Genesis games behind the counter. As I was browsing through them, I saw one didn't have a normal Genesis logo but instead a "MD" in green and red. I knew imediatly this was an import and asked if I could look at it. The title was "Thunderforce 4" and knew nothing about it so I just bought Donkey Konga and Altered Beast and left. I would like to know if I missed out on getting a good game? Does anybody have it and/or played it and if so how did you like it?
(Actually I probably would have needed a AR right? Maybe it would be too much trouble to buy that + the game to play it)
So I found this Mega Drive game at the flea market.
For the record, Thunder Force IV (called Lightening Force in the US) is a pretty awesome 2D space shooter type of game. I don't know if the Mega Drive carts would work on US Genesis however.
I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

Quite a bit. They both have images of space ships and such, but different looking ones.
Lightening Force:

Thunder Force IV:

I like the Thunder Force one better to be honest.

Well, in MY hometown, finding an import game would never happen.
But if I found something, and knew for sure that it was legit, I'd get to know what the seller knows about the game, its console, and video games in general (without them knowing) and ascertain their reason for selling it. And based on that, I'd do one of the following:
A) Haggle even though it's a great deal
B) Buy it if it's really cheap, no questions asked
C) Walk away

Dude, you passed up on Thunder Force IV?
I guess I can forgive you this time.
But if you are looking for a tough-as-nails shooter that is regarded in some circles as one of the finest shooters ever...TFIV is the game to play.
I guess I can forgive you this time.
