Game Boy Colors are sexy. There are no two ways about that statement, they are just sexy. Its also fun to paint the inside of the transparent casing. I did that to mine, and it turned out like that.
Lately, I've been using my Famicom themed Game Boy Micro w/ flash cart. It can emulate GB/GBC pretty well, along with the NES and Game Gear. But there's still plenty of gems that I use the color for.

That's pretty sharp looking scarper.
I'm still waiting on the teal one I bought on Ebay, and I found a berry GBC at a junk store for $2.00. It needed a cleanup, and I still have to replace the screen cover because it is scratched pretty badly, but it works when I turn it on. Now I just need some games and a light, and I'll be set.

Someone on eBay used to do those paint jobs with a clear GBC and add a backlight mod to it - that wouldn't be you Scraper, would it?
Re: thinking of getting a gameboy
The backlight mod would be awesome. I always found the GBC to be the best fit for my hands.xan_racketBOY_fan wrote:Someone on eBay used to do those paint jobs with a clear GBC and add a backlight mod to it - that wouldn't be you Scraper, would it?

I didn't even know this thread existed until now. It's funny since i've been fixated on gameboy's for the last two weeks. Now mind you I have a Gray Brick, a Lime Green GBC, and a silver GBA SP, but ever since I found out that there was a crystal clear GameBoy, my goal in life has been to get one. I did the other day off of ebay, paid only $13 for it. Now, I need the atomic purple to round out my collection. BTW, this thread is helpful in plotting out which games to go after. Thanks!

That looks freaking sweet. Backlight would just bring it together. Though, if I went for a stock system, not modded, I would go for Game Boy Pocket.scarper wrote:Game Boy Colors are sexy. I'm surprised that this is still going on. Anyways I managed to get a gba sp 101 with the backlight for 5.00. Screen was damaged and I ordered a new on thru ebay and now the gba looks great. I got rid of my gbc and pockets abd gba to a guy who is using them for kids ata his barbershop. To me that's a great idea. I haven't picked up any games from the gameboy line since im concentrating on my ps1 and dreamcast collection. Looking at this though I may get mario land 1 and 2 to keep me busy. I also noticed that the gba line for nes classics and snes conversions are actually cheaper than that of the snes and nes carts. I may just get the gba versions just because its cheaper and I can take them anywhere.
