Didn't learn of this until today:

Very impressive. I think this might get me back into it. There are patches for both the PSX and PSP versions. Here's the start of a video playthrough:

Knights not having range...I kinda preferred it that way. It took me a long time to master them, but they always made great blockers for my soft targets to hide behind. Now knights can hang back while my thieves get raped? Hmm...have to change tactics.

Anyway, looks good. Did they speed up the battle, because everyone looked hastened. Also I wish they would have fixed the speed of the text in that opening explanation video...but I suppose you can't have everything.

And for the record, there's really only two difficult fights I can think of in that game. The one where you fight the chocobos at the river, and the fight against the robot on the Cloud sidequest. Glad it's gonna be a harder game.

Well just after the first mission I can already tell this is a totally different experience. These guys were using skills and items you won't expect, and their survival ability really kicks in. It actually felt like I was playing against someone else. They rarely did anything stupid, and in fact pulled a couple moves that surprised me, and I'm pretty sure they didn't act this way in the original version.

Wow...game over on the 3rd mission. Didn't even get a single turn. Algus just gets himself killed. Wonderful. That's not a good sign of things to come.

That means pick the other option. The computer almost always goes for him on the first turn even in the normal version, but you're given the option to just kill everyone...I always go with that. If I remember correctly, one of them actually boosts how Brave Algus is, and I think it was that one...

I always picked to save him and never had trouble until this version.
