Sega Saturn House of the Dead Question

I found House of the Dead for the Sega Saturn for roughly $20. I really want it as I love House of the Dead. But the employee stated that it was a light gun only game, and all of the TVs I have are pretty new. I saw one video where there were crossheirs scrolling across the screen, but I can't be too sure. Anyway, is the original House of the Dead a light gun only game, or can you use a standard controller?

But why would you want to? Half of the fun of light gun games is holding that plastic gun in your hand and shooting the hell out of swarms of the undead.

If it's a US copy of HOTD, then I believe it's a pretty good price. I wish they put it on that Wii game with HOTD 2 and 3. :/

If it's a US copy then it is a very good price, especially if it's complete. Yeah, sure, the whole point of light gun games is to play with a light gun, but in my opinion playing with a standard controller doesn't take too much away from the enjoyment. I probably feel that way because The Punisher for the NES is one of my favorite games ever. haha

If it's a US copy then it is a very good price, especially if it's complete. I played Lethal Enforcers on Genesis with a controller for a long-time before getting the gun. Which I have since lost to childhood idiocy of trading things in., *sigh*. The gun does make it much better.

But I too loved The Punisher on NES.

If your seeing cross hairs on your tv then the gun should work just fine. The guns just don't work on flat screens. You can always pick up a older tv for a few bucks at a yard sale or thift shop for old school games.

Yeah well that's basically what I'm using. My dream blasters didn't work on it so...

Get a light gun and a crt. And then get both Virtua Cop games.

You do not want to suffer through a light gun game with a d-pad controller. It leaves half of the fun out completely.
