Heh, sarcasm detection fail. However, the 2600 joystick is terrible. Iconic and awesome looking, yes. Comfortable for extended play? Absolutely not.

Some games come on CASSETTES! And I don't mean like, people mistakenly calling cartridges "cassettes", I mean actual cassette tapes.

We've been over this before sir. Cassette means "little case/box" in French, referring to the protective shell. It did so way before the invention of cassette tapes, videocassettes and the like. Super Famicom carts do actually say cassette on the back.

I have to agree with you. The d-pad is a terrible thing that was finally superseded when the Playstation invented the analog joystick (which is the best system ever, by the way). Games like Mario, Mega Man, Castlevania, Contra and Zelda are very overrated. Mario is just a rip-off of Pitfall, Mega Man looks like a baby in a blue diaper that shoots iced milk, Castlevania is just a rip-off of Dracula and stupid music and bad control, Contra is the same as every other run and shoot game like Metal Slug and Gunstar Heroes, and Zelda is a total Ultima wannabe.

The sideways cartridge thing is so stupid. I like to see what game I am playing! The Atari and Sega systems are way better, because I can look at the game I am playing.

Also, the NES graphics aren't even good. Both the Sega, X-Box and Sony games look better!

It is true that the NES started gaming though. I have to give it credit for that. Especially with Mario 64, which was the first video game.

I don't know if it was innovative, but it did popularize it for home console use as far as I know.

Still, it does kind of suck. Here is the 2600-compatible stick that I like:

I found it for .99cents last week. I remember it as a kid, and was surpised to see how much they go for these days. It's so responsive (short throw distance helps) and feels way more solid than the stock controller. Of course, the best way to play is with a Genesis pad.
