I kind of consider Atomic Runner a shmup too. Yes you are running with the ability to jump, but it is forced scrolling which makes it kind of like Elemental Master and Undead Line, just from the side view. At least it seems more shmup than run n gun to me.

Yeah a lot of those could go both ways. I included Elemental Master and Undeadline in the Overhead Run and Gun episode as well. I think the reason I don't personally consider Atomic Runner a shooter is because of gravity. You can jump but you can't really stay in the air if you desire for very long.

Yeah it gets hard at that point. For example, I included Bimini Run and I expect someone to eventually mention that I should have also included Road Blasters (I chose Bimini because it's more interesting). Granted, I wasn't too concerned about getting all of the 3rd person stuff. Also, someone did mention that Rocket Knight Adventures kinda has a shooter section. I would have probably included that if I had thought about it, but as you may be able to tell by my dialog, I was kind of wishy-washy on including the shooter segments from games like Gunstar Heroes and Red Zone. I guess the only way to be safe is to include every game where the player fires a shot. ;)

great vid like always!

I dont think I can afford most of the games you've listed. Although I do own a few of them.

one game that I kinda consider a shooter is RANGER X. I was kinda hoping this game would be on your list. But it doesn't fully fit the episode's criteria.

Way back in the day I did beat SUB-TERRANIA. It was damn hard. I dont think I'm masochistic enough to do it again.

Damn, I can't even finish the first stage before I rage-quit or maybe rage-burn-down-my-house. You deserve props for that.

You should definitely cover Ranger X at some point. I love that game. I've beaten it a few times now.
