SCART Transcoding Issues
So, I recently got a SCART transcoder for use with my Saturn and Genesis, as well as all the necessary cables (as well as the audio breakout box), but I have been having trouble getting it to work. On my Genesis, the picture comes in fine, but there is no audio. I have tried connecting it via the Sega CD's audio, too, but that also doesn't work. On my Saturn, the audio works, but the image on the TV is just a static series of pink and green bands on the lower half of the screen. When I try taking out the audio breakout box, the entire screen in filled with the same bands.

Re: SCART Transcoding Issues
Just need lots more info to attempt to troubleshoot this problem. The more the better.
Here's some important questions.
Pics?
Which transcoder are you using?
What model of TV are you using?
What model of audio breakout box are you using?
Where did you buy your cables?
Are the cables wired for JPN or EUR?
Are they wired for Composite Sync?
Does your transcoder require composite Sync?
When you unscrew and open the SCART plug end of the cables what are the capacitors rated at?
Are the capacitors polarized?
Are the cables properly grounded to the metal plug sheath on the SCART end?

Re: SCART Transcoding Issues
I was mentioning your problem to my friend and he said his old saturn scart cable had the same problem (pink-and-green lines and crap) and he said after desoldering and resoldering caps for an hour he gave up and just ordered a new one.
