Hey guys, got a couple of questions about the Nintendo 64.
First, what do I have to do to play Japanese titles on an N64? From what I read on Wikipedia, it has plastic tabs similar to the SNES and that's all that keeps me from playing(I'm assuming they're set in the back corners of the cartridge slot). Do I just remove those, or is there more to it?
Second, while that may work for 64 games, how do I get PAL games to run on my NTSC console?
Yeah it is just like the SNES (two tabe), just cut/melt them out and JP games play. PAL... No clue. I don't remember there being any PAL only games worth the time...
If you already have an NTSC system, just remove the tabs to play Japanese games. To play PAL you need a Passport. The pins aren't mapped the same in PAL system so they will fit, but refuse to boot. The passport basically uses an NTSC cart to trick the N64 into thinking it has a same region game in it. Then you just put the PAL game in the top and it will play it.
