Took the words right out of my mouth.

I just ordered a copy of Microcosm for the ol' 3DO. :D

I always liked the fact they used Roger Dean art on the covers.

It sucks they will be gone as they made a lot of well loved games. However there really aren't any games they made that I liked all that much. Ah well. More for Mr Popo to say I have no taste.

Oh, this is sad. Lemmings is an obvious favorite, but I love Wiz n' Liz even more. It's ridiculously fun.

And, after checking their list of games -- they made DOS-era point-and-click adventures based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld books?! I can't believe I didn't know about this! That's a sure-fire recipe for instant awesome!

Off to eBay.

Psygnosis was the publisher of those games. I only played a bit of the first one, which was quite funny (but to some extent recycles content from the books). It has a bit of a reputation for having nonsensical puzzles as well - but what would you expect from Discworld, right?

Definitely have a go at them and I think you will enjoy the games, but don't have too high hopes or I think you may be disappointed!

You may like to know (or already know) there are also games based on works of Douglas Adams, and in fact Spaceship Titanic was a game first and converted to a book by Adams ' friend Terry Jones.

Ooh, that is crushing. There goes my childhood...although they stuck to WipEout and F1 for over 10 years, they made some brilliant games.

Come to think of it, Lemmings is what made me poo-poo consoles when I was a kid. Always loved consoles, but I believe it was in 1991 when at Hane's Mall in Winston Salem, NC, I went to an Electronics Boutique, and near the back of the store where no one ever was, sat a PC with Lemmings running.

Hooked. I was hooked. I wasn't the best at it, but loved blowing up the Lemmings and hearing that cute "On No!" before exploding into pixels. Sadly, I don't own a copy. So many times I walked passed a "best hits" pc copy at Target or Wal-Mart and didn't pay the $2.99 to own the little gem of a game.

I think the Amiga version of Lemmings still holds the exclusive on the simultaneous 2-player mode with two mice :)

Back in the old days, i had a fondness for Baal, even though looking back, it probably played like doo-doo.

Only game of theirs I bought and really played were Colony Wars. Really in-depth and challenging game, not one of my favorites - but definitely worth-while to try out. I wondered what happened to Psygnosis, guess they're gone for good now. :(
