New PS3 youtube app is awful.

Anyone else experiencing troubles with this?

The video quality may be better but the lag is atrocious, even if you allow significant buffer time. Rewinding or fast forwarding a video can also just freeze the video altogether.

I hate to bitch so much about some thing that's free, but this is just absurd. Especially when they block the old app which I never had any qualms with; video quality aside.

I think I watched youtube on my ps3 maybe once. Better off just hooking a PC up to your TV.

We have a google tv box so I use that more but it is annoying that the app wouldn't work right

the xbox youtube is shit as well. always buffers and my internet is fast. also the user interface is poorly done you cant have playlists so watching lets plays is very difficult

I noticed that you can't have the Youtube App and the PS3 internet browser open at the same time. So when I click on a Youtube link when using the browser it brings me to a page that says "Download the new YouTube App" even though I already have - and had to close in order to launch the browser! I mean, really.. who tested this shit?

They have this new invention, it's called the computer. With it you can view online videos easily.

Mine's under repair atm. Been PS3'n it for a while now.

It's weird, for me some videos play just fine while others have all sorts of audio glitches and pops. I'm sure it'll get better as they optimize it.

One cool feature though is that you can browse and control YouTube videos on the PS3 app through the new YouTube Android app. Way better for searching for videos if you don't have a keyboard hooked up to your PS3. Best of all though you can search for the next video to play without interrupting the full screen playback of the current video. Good shit for sitting around with a bunch of buds and watching random vids.
